Do peer motivation programs keep the employees motivated?

The company's always try to do things which may motivate the employees to do better at work. Ther are many things like seminars to stree-free classes to appointing life coaches. Peer motivation too is a concept where the co-workeres acknowledge each other. But does this motivate the employees to be better at work?

By whatever type you will provide motivation to any employee, employee will 100% motivate. Because, today it is very danger time going on , job turn over ratio increase, many factors are responsible behind demootivat emploee. Todays, it must require that how to give motivation -satisfaction to employees. Company are giving motivation by various ways ,so that they retain. Any motivation progragme will motivate but programe must be intresting otherwise employee feel bore...thanks Ms.dipika for referal

all motivational programs cannot sustain by it being introduced as a solitary reason. the company policies have to be in alignment with general motivation of the their staff

it is truely said,as many films are also made for motivation like lajja,generally people get motivated my seeing,listening or experiencing the bad situation that it does not happen to him in future.

yes.......coz they know you better than ur superior as well as subordinates..... they know how u work and what type of work u can handle..... so i think peer motivation works

Yes, to some extent. But, peer motivation alone will not suffice. On the contrary, an employee should not be enamoured by the flattering by the peer, and should not bother about the comments passed by them. If he discharge his duty as per demand without favour or nepotism, he is bound to be successful!

In a way yes.. A person might be self motivated but something which comes from other is always worth appreciation. It makes a lot of differnce. We are humanbeings and we love to be appreciated. We work hard for that.

Such programs are a waste of time and money and an excuse for nap guys, bird watchers and gossip girls. Understand their WIIFM and only then you will realize their true motivation. If your employee has no clear WIIFM, then help them in creating one and then he/she will become your asset. (WIIFM - Whats in it for me ?). A counselor or counselors will do this job and will help employees to achieve their targets. Maybe they will leave, but they will contribute and leave back a legacy for the future to pick up - I rarely receive any job vacancies letters with WIIFM in it. All they says is take it or leave it.
