why should we unnecessarily bother for it when there is a saperate committee to decide who is elgible or not? And once it is awarded such outcry is enough to prove that you are not satisfied with the entire present system.Carry on such debate if you deserve the power to change the same & if not respect the decission & the person who is awarded it.This way you are insulting all the three -the award, the awardee & hte system laid down for the same that leads other also to do the same---mahesh bhatt

We should bother and people should give a padma which associated with the greats just because mummy is staunch Congress supporter. For making sure that families filled Love Aaj Kal thereby killing competition from fantastic Kaminey giving it an A certificate and now a Padma for this baby

Awards should be given on deserving criterias which can include contribution to the industry, society etc - nowadays there is a lot of surprises when awards are announced like Obama being given a peace prize ...

No, absolutely does not deserve this national award..What social contribution he has done but for killing the chilkara dears. He is making fool of himself if he considers so. He should voluntarily return the award with grace and to save the prestige of this award. If the people in government are insensible he himself should come forward bravely.

Absolutely Not as there are many who are much more deserving. Yet the problem is he is neither the first not the only one. There are people who have done and are continuing to do severally more service to the country but the real problem is in system of selection. The problem lies in our governance modes which is not nation centric it is individual centric, therefore individual benefits forever are placed in forefront. Most people occupying offices have their loyalties to individuals or groups not in the national interest. Therefore we fail time and again in delivery.

There is no way on Earth that Saif ALi Khan can or may get in the fututre A Padma Shri Award. Very simple, because he has not shown any good skills of an actor worthy enough to get such a high degree of award. In my opinion, he is a very mediocre actor & he will remain like that. His mother would definitely deserve to get such an award for her contribution to the Indian cinema.

Gosh. If the criterion is believing " I deserve it" I wonder how many of us does not feel or believe we deserve it. Any way if these honours are awarded to people who have been accused of Financial scams, illegal poaching and so on so forth. They may soon become History sheets at your local police station. Better avoid them if you want your credibility and integrity remain intact. Perceptionally speaking of course
