As per Bhagawat Gita ... No body body can live without work or working ! In every moment of living, we are working either in sleep or active or passive or Akarma or Vikarma or Sukarma way that is either positive or negative or neutral but no living moment can pass without action which results into some result or affect (as per law of karma or action)

Therefore, we cannot but live to work and leave a mark in our life by the very nature of things ...

I am not living to work or working to live. As a matter of fact I don't have to work at all. However, I am really working because the income I receive will help me to live a more luxurious life.

After thoughts:

Even if one thinks that we just live and need not work, by very nature of things work will happen, (even though we may not use our head, hands and feet, but that will be akarma or vikarma karma and burden some) in mental domain / framework and since work and its effect / result is related to mental structure and the person who sits doing nothing and thinking that he does / need do nothing is fooling himself as per Bhagawat Gita ... !

When you are BORN, you can safely assume that you are living a LIFE!

Why did I start with a pessimistic statement like that? Because the question has a fantastic paradox, rhetoric and also an Antithesis! These kind of statements just seem to stimulate my grey calls and they become black!! I am born and hence I have to WORK TO LIVE!

Meaning, all things good like education, shelter, food, water, electricity cost money. Since I am aLIVE I need to pump costs to keep teh whole mode of my LIFE aLIVE. Seriously I need to WORK to pump costs to remain aLIVE. If I work then will I be paid for my work. If I work harder I will be paid better making my life better aLIVE than DEAD.

WORK is an engagement of a person in an activity which will give him a return to keep his LIFE aLIVE!Hence, since I am aLIVE I need to WORK! Go figure that everybody.

Thats my definition of work. And I say that I am working therefore I am aLIVE! Super debate Praneeth.

Of course, not only we but  every spicease in the universe also is living for work more and more....... as hard work you perform as much upgradation you will have....

So, work load should not be taken as the cause of depression..... Everybody should always kept their eyes open for easier  way to dispose off their work as nicely as possible....

Here i want to classify what is work. Work is something, which gives us some kind of returns. WOrk is something, which makes our living worthwhile. work is something which makes us klnown to this world. If we live to work (though not to extremes), we surely make our mark in the world history.

Hence i support that we live to work.

Work is a very relative term, and I dont feel you can attribute the same on a general manner. Each single individual has a certain want, criteria, necessity to which in case he/she has to attain may require to work. It may in some cases dont need to work to get the things in life. So I would put it rather straight that it becomes the individuals prerogative to choose to work or not to work.

we are born not by choice but by chance ::::

being born we have to live and the question is how you live :: work or no work ::

some live for themselves ::    some for others                    ::          some for a larger cause        ::

( salaried)                           ( indusrialists : job providers)          ( saints , philosophers & jihadis)

(basic ones)                         ( ministers  , researchers  )             (  nationalists  , revolutioneries )
