Why not ! It is close to a counsellors role. I forsee large organisations having over 1000 employees in one place needing such a person. But care should be taken to rope in a coach who has served as a counsellor and not otherwise. Self analysis, confidence etc. are all good to hear but in a dog eat dog world where pressure is on to excel at any cost, your judgement about yourself often gets clouded. Imagine a successful person who is also arrogant with his staff, he will start developing a bloated ego slowly thinking he is invincible until an incident would happen to deflate this. There is nothing wrong is seeking guidance in such issues, it would only help a person to perform better at the work place.

We lived in a socialistic environment for 50 odd years and failed and is carrying baggages that may be counterproductive for the new concepts the companies need even an employees ideas and prejudices about life need to be changed along with work concepts. What I have noticed here in India is their very low 'attention span' and haemongus 'ego drives' and there may be many more which are not conducive for democracy or for efficient working of commerce and other works. So a life coach can put the right perspective about how one should approach ones work and life in an employees life so that the companies that prefer such people will benifit in the long run.

We happen to live in a world so much filled with tensions and man made problems, everytime when we hear about anything new it appeals to us.I agree with Bindu, self analysis is better then any other form of consultation, as we know our weakness and shorcomings better than anyone else.Only that we have to accept our weakness and look for possible solutions, We can discuss 'n' number of times with anyone, but it is 'we ' who have to decide.

No. No need any life coach, we have to learn from our experience, others experience, make analysis of others. We have to learn ourselves, do not depend on other.

When there is no life at companies why have life coach as it does not make any difference. The CEo's bring in them as a distraction so taht to give a feeling among the employees taht the company is taking care of them.thats all. life is in our hands . if you like it live it and if one does not like it quit and go.thats all. If the environment in a company is congenial then life is there.even then life coach concept is just another one to make money or to keep employee distracted. i dont support the life coach concept as the actual life coach for a company is the CEO non than any body. reards MajorRrajendran

I have happened to meet one at my company. I must say I wasn't much impressed by her idea aboout life. The sessions anyways were good to make mind calm as we got to communicate with others ( it was a group coaching). Anyways I have come to the conclusion that we just ned to analyse the situation and take help of our loved ones and we can get what we want. The best advice is the one which you can gove to yourself. We don't need anyone to guide us or tell us what to do. Still it depends on how good are you at analysing the situation.
