The number of investment banks (i-bank) in India is increasing day by day. According to industry estimates, at least 300 i-banks have been set up in India over the past 18 months, compared to only 50-60 new i-banks in 2006-07, when fund-raising was at its peak.

Actually, number Indian firms are raising funds for acquisitions now, though i-banks have been around for long. And i-banks are looking to have a share of benefit. So users, do you like the increase in i-banks in India?

If it's a good deal a number of i-bankers are available, It'll be like real estate brokering. Boutique i-banks typically handle sub-$25 million (Rs115 crore) deals, that helps in areas like fund-raising, debt, and private equity (PE) and venture capital investments.

No doubt in the other side Mr.Dayanand Deshpande has mentioned the true thing regarding the fraud that takes place now a days due to the use of Internet banking but i must say most of the banks take all possible steps to make aware their customer regarding banking over Internet. All the mischief done by the hacker are ONLY BECAUSE due to the IGNORANCE of the USER because all most all the banks uses a 128-bit encryption technology to make the user data like User-id, password & transactions to travel through a safe and secure channel.

Again regarding malicious proxy, i'll simply suggest if a user just simply Look for the security certificate of that transacting webpage else more simply mark whether the web-address is started with " HTTPS://(S stands for secure) " or not then, also most of the chances is there he can avoid the fraud.

The reason that I won't prefer Internet banking is because I do not trust the services of the bank through the net. Some human beings prefer to trust others like us and may have some difficulty in trusting a machine, especially in the matters of money. I'll always have a doubt about whether their money is safe, while being processed through Internet banking.

In addition to this, a few cases of forgery have been reported in online banking. There are some fraud or proxy websites, which can hack information (user name and password) entered by a person for some transaction, and later misuse it. In such cases, people lose their money without knowing and by the time, they get the bill, huge loses may have been incurred.
