This is a good question. My answer is no. I wouldn't like to live in skyscrapers. To some extent it looks very fashionable & fascinating to live at hundred meters above sea level but this is a very risky decision.

The nature & the way buildings are build today are very very dangerous & staying at sch heights is risking your & your family's life.

Yes, but certainly not in a earth-quake/ cyclone prone area...and certainly not where the taps go dry during summer and the power goes off frequently without notice.

Only for metropolitan cities in India it is recommended. But the risk factor is electricity failure and if old age people have to be taken out for treatments etc. Safety aspects for the children living on high rise buildings has to be taken utmost care and these are the main risk factors..

Yes I would love to live there because high-rise buildings are normally located in urban areas. Office, school, restaurant, shopping malls, public transportation and other key areas are very neadby which saves on time and fuel. Chances are you will just have to spend a few walking minutes to get to these places. If you add up all the transportation and the rent expenses, you will find out that you are actually being more fruitful with a high-rise living.

If I have an option, I would like to have a single story house with lots of open space around. Even in a high rise building I would opt for pent house if it is available and affordable. I would therefore recommend that we start planning large townships connected with Metro rails rather than going for high rise buildings. I think we have space and money for that. Though I have built apartments for a living I personally do not like living in those and have made known  my opinion to whosoever has asked

Any dwelling sans a small garden with acouple of trees is not worth calling a home

the joy of a independent living with your garden is life living satisfied

I now feel the security of Apartments and independent houses are same

And coming to the disadvantages of  apartments theu are many to list compared to induvidual house

Everyone wants to be close to their place of work.

Everyone wants spend minimal on rent or housing costs.

Everybody wants the security that living together gives.

The result is high - rise living

Personally I wish I could live in a nice little independent house with a little garden.
