Office follows a system of ethics and emotions do have some consideration in terms of personal interests and that should not be an impediment to business processes. hence emotions should come in any way to business or work culture.

The approach has to be customised to suit the circumstances for HR &Manpower management;but in all commercial decisions; are not to be influenced with emotions and have to be taken only based on commercial prudence and merits of the case with flexibility pitching for short term solutions and long term steady growth

Emotions might be dangerous for you at the workplace. If you show it too much, they might fire. This of course depends totally on the country you work and the type of work you are doing. I worked at a model agency, where this type of behavior (emotional) was seen as extremely positive. Jobs, which requires you to be creative for example is a nice example for that. But there are not many of those kind of jobs

Balance of both is needed. For business purpose use your mind first but for being humane after all we all humans, we need to be little emotional but not much. Emotions can be misused by our peers or juniors/seniors, so be careful & never forget to apply your mind. Rational decisions should be taken in all aspects.

Yes Gargi said it right. After all it is business. Crores of rupees involved in it. If u care for the emotions, without properly analysing the problem situation, the organisation will vanish from the business scenario. Ethical values shall lead you so that you cant go unethical in ur approach. When it comes to decision making you must assess the situation right and take a right decision at the right time. No place for emotions here.
