Of course it will...already we are suffering will so much traffic. With the introduction of cheap cars, more and more people will have that and whatever space we are getting now in traffic...that will also go....

We just can't imagine the Govt. to build highways & roads so that we can drive on them in our new cars, that's absurd. We being citizen also have a responsibility. The use of public transport system will not only reduce the load on the current infrastructure, but also help in efficient transport. The higher car sales will not translate into chaos on road , if we exercise patience & discipline. For those people who just need a car to go to office, how about car-pooling?

Nano is a car designed to provide the middle class family with a affordable travel option. Most of the users of the small cars owned by middle class groups are used mostly on weekends to take the entire family in a single system of transport. If there is a product which increases affordability to the common man then the government should take steps to ensure it provides the needed infrastructure to support the same and to blame the company which produces these vehicles will be a shame for the innovations in the country

I believe Tata Nano has far bigger objectives which everyone should appreciate, its an example of corporate social responsibility that only the rich people should not have the luxury to travel by car than traffic related issues. Its economical pricing, less fuel consumption, easy maneuverability and parking with minimum effort. Like every new thing it will have both good and bad sides, a positive side like a common man can also fulfill his dream with a car of his own to travel along with his family so also the traffic and pollution issues. Even if the public don’t travel by Nano, they will travel preferably by two or four wheelers for the sake of their own transport and same problems will arise. So, Tata’s as always have done a great thing by launching Nano, the world’s cheapest car and have made India proud, again I reckon, managing traffic is not only government's failure/responsibility but also every citizens responsibility.

ya its local govt. responsiblity to improve infrastructure of the cities...... its true tht It will add to traffic problems because there are many factors such as Increasing population rate in India .so there are many vehicles on road...Nowadays adolescents also drives the vehicles which again add traffic problems ......and it is a major concern .so govt. should improve infrastruture..Govt should also look on small cites/towns . Govt is improving day-by-day but the rate of improving is much less than the rate of growing population . At present infrastrcture is not proper , It will not withstand in the future . So govt should improve a lot ..

Yes, the dream of a middle class man will be true by TATA NANO. But the company shall see not only the profits but also see that the government takes step to improve the infrastruer in the cities where the percentage is only 6% - 8% . The said item shall be considered by the governement before giving permission to the companies for getting the manufactured items registered.

yes even i agree with pradeep here that its the failure of the government for not providing proper infrastructure in the cities where more number of people are coming in search of jobs and this has created to an unprecedented growth of population in the cities, and due to this there is more number of vehicles in the cities, the government was just busy in bringing all the industry sectors to their respective states, but they didn't give importance on the infrastructure part which was more important, so its total failure from the government part for not having proper infrastructure in place.

It's true that local government has been always shying away from creating infrastructure for past 60 years. It is the pressure of the people which is making them to create such infrastructure and is always a after thought. Imagine we were living choked life on the roads till quadrilateral routes were constructed in India. It is high time that the govt plans in advance and create infrastructure based on the products which are likely to developed and marketed in India for benefit of common man. In fact we should always elect the leaders who have vision for future developments in India and are keen to implement it.

I would agree with aaryan that NANO is a dream come true for even lower middle class families to own the car. we should think of the positives that people who till few years back never thought of having a car, now can own it easily. and either ways if not NANO then some other cars will create traffic problems but atleast NANO is fulfilling desires of some people.
