Google says mobile ads are extraordianrily effective. I do recieve many promotional offers on my mobile. I have subscribed many offers of the places I regularly shop. What do you think about marketing through mobile. Is is effective? Do you believe the words from Google?

Perhaps this is far from true for our country. We delete ads without even checking them. We are not interested in anything more than what we like.

Yes, mobile ads are very much effective if the ads are repeatedly sent. If it is sent only once, the customer would delete it and never remember it again. But if the ad is sent repeatedly, you are feeding it to the customers mind, so the customer would remember it and go for your product or service. Regards, Anna George. Web Analyst. Yes, the ads are well directed and targetted. Like for example the Nokia X2 ads did generate good response from the youngsters as it was well aimed.

In my opinion every medium where the content is being consumed by the consumers is effective for marketing purpose, until unless they are executed after understanding the audience and the scope of the brief.

Advt. may be effective provided it is sent to the subscriber only. Not to everybody who are the mobile subscribers. But to those who are inclined to get special advt. or, offers from selective category. Normally, such as air ticket offers, tour packages, hotel offers, Food chain suppliers offers, Educational events . Merely sending the advt to all mobile will irritate . However, if the items are selected & subscribed, then the user may get benefit out of it.

I agree with Purvi as most of times the ads coming in mobile only create irritation and we just neglect them.Mobile is essential in life today and we use it for purpose and it is not an entertaining equipment like TV or newspapers.

Of course very effective. Mobile phone connections are still growing at the approx. rate of a 1000 connections per month per city. Everyone wants/has to have a mobile phone today. Imagine the reach of a mobile advert - from the maidservant to the grocer to the auto rikshaw driver to the policeman and postman right upto you!!! what reach and what coverage!!

The ads on mobiles are irritating and boring, one tend to delete such ads without even opening them, because these are disturbing and untimely irritating. The ads on mobiles send negative communication to the receivers hence such ad are not successful at least it is true in case of our country

Yes. Agree with Purvi on this. Mobiles are so much more personal and I personally find it irritating and intrusive when I get ads/spam.

as far as branding and recognition is concerned then yes surely its a gud tol.but 1 cnt rely for the results based on social marketing itself......social marketing on the other hand can leave a bad impact on one's product/services as these days evry1 is taking support of these strategies which can put ur product in the category of new and inferior product...so care needs to be taken !!!

It is waste of time and will create negative impression on that advt. It irritates the middle aged people in general. Due to such advt. important messages may be neglected.

I think we hardly go for every offer recieved through mobile ads.so, In my opinion better to get such adds through emails and not through sms's, otherwise your cell phone keep on buzzing all day and night!
