We have seen many emotional as well as motivational songs and videos. Many such links keep on circulation on web. We get many mails which have a motivational story. Do you think such things help people. Or a person always needs to motivate himself?

Motivation is limited and time bound. You need to either keep in touch with this motivational stuff for long time or you loose the power. But yes some stories do bring you out of sad mental state.

yes it can motivate you..but the first thing it requires is your emotionally attachment with the song and knowlege of the medium is necessary. if we go through the history of independence we will find the motivational songs waked up for the struggle and we get it.

To my mind, it is only on the spur of the moment you are reading a text or watching a movie or listening to a song! Because we all decide on our own free will and move on in our own specific co-ordinate of life on our own pace, it has nothing to do with your role model's life! But the thrill of getting that inner adrenaline for that moment is amazing!

For some people it doesn't make any difference, for others it makes them sad and motivated for some instance. But in some people there will be the right impact and they start thinking positively. The end objective of every motivational story is to make people think positive. It depends from person to person how he wants the story to be influenced in him. remember that time you saw rang de basanti, lagaan and such movies...remember the patriotism bubbling in you? or what about 3 ediots??...and all the college goers wanted to peak in their field(for a week atleast) and songs like chak de India!?! i dont even think this question is relevant...if these songs and videos did not motivate...it wouldn't be called motivational!!

It may be true upto some extent but definitely depends on the circumstances you are into, because however motivated you feel there are n number if people around you who always try to pull you down.

Sources of Motivation are quiet limited...so any motivational songs/video/stories will really provide a spark and energy in an individual

Yes it does motivate people. This is the reason why people listen to channel music while at work. Most ad agencies and those in the creative business do often listen to music/songs for motivation and pumping up their juices for creativity.

It stays till the time the story is inscribed in your mind or someone plays an inspirational song but to remain motivated throughout, it depends on the individual's self motivation. You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink.

When one's mood is upbeat and receptive, not always. Cycle of changes that he has to encounter will take away the "essence" when he really wanted to apply! He would, then, go out of options to tackle the situation, when he would not get the option to listen or view such motivational songs or movies or stories at that point in time.

Yes, motivational things really works as it does have a great impact on everybody whether they do believe in this or not,it has a great impact on those who really wants to motivate themselves, they do read motivational stories/video etc. for that which gives a wave to their goals in life.and people who do not believe in this also affected by the inspirational stories no matter for how long it would remain in their minds.

I can say that it 100% work. Due to the powr of word in song, story, videoetc in which we feel that words, pictures as well as we consumed that and it reached to our soul..So, it can change our mind. Some time if any person is facing highly DE-motivation or depression, so, we can motivate by such various ways and it may takes time but we have to keep patience. Ultimate, you will get success. Many psychiatric doctors are giving advice to patients also. Thanks Bindu madam for referal

Depends on the song , if some one is stressed up would like to get rid of the stress by hearing the soft melodious song by closing their eyes which almost into a relaxing mode after that the mind gets re freshened so that your mind will open up and be more active

I won't say "upto some extent." My belief is that these things can and do motivate to a very large extent. Remember Lata ji's "ae mere watan ke logo" sung for the first time after 1962 China war. The song still sends a chill through your body and mind half a century later.

It is very individualistic! What is written is an inspiration first which when broadcast in mass can be an inspiration for some and motivation for others!! Even today when on our Independence day we hear these songs that are blasted on loud speakers, it gives me the goose pimples!! It inspires me and evokes a strong emotion of being ONE with the people and their sufferings before the coveted day!! Motivation to do the right thing is a positive but be motivated to take justice in hands and then proceed to do it borders on fanaticism!! There is the difference.

I agree with Jaygopal Raghavan.

It totally depends upon the person. TIME is another important factor. A person who is not receptive at one time in their life could possibly be receptive at another time in their life.

Also, I agree with Tina about the effect of motivation being limited.

Therefore, instead of motivation, think of inspiration.

Inspiration is more long term - the effect of which, again, varies from person to person.

It depends on the person for if a person has a negative bent of mind and keeps their mind closed to all excternal influence then no amount of motivational videos or songs would help. A person has to be receptive in the first place, only then can their brain assimilate what it is being exposed to !

It depends on the kind of individual. If one is fully involved in the song or video and one's mind is in it then the person can be motivated.
