The selectors need to be complimented for picking a balanced 15-member squad for the ICC ODI World Cup. The Indian team, picked here on Monday afternoon, is not short of depth.

Crucially, the wise men have selected leg-spinner Piyush Chawla as the third specialist spinner in the squad ahead of an additional batsman in Rohit Sharma. This is an attacking move. And also the in form pace bowler Sreesanth has been overlooked, and there is no backup wicketkeeper too this time,

Indian Cricket worldcup squad:  Mahendra Singh Dhoni (capt/wk), Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel, Praveen Kumar, Yusuf Pathan, Piyush Chawla, R Ashwin, Ashish Nehra.

What do you think people, Has this world cup squad got what it takes to win this world cup?? Share  your views on this...

Yes....The side has Tendulkar, Sehwag, Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Yusuf Pathan (batting all-rounder) and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (batsman-wicketkeeper) as its frontline batsmen. Kohli will vie with Pathan for a place in the eleven.

Harbhajan Singh and R. Ashwin are the off-spinners in the side. Although, Harbhajan and Ashwin belong to the same tribe, their methods are different.  While the selection of spearhead Zaheer Khan, the in-form Munaf Patel and the side's best ‘death' bowler Ashish Nehra are on predictable lines, the selectors have chosen Praveen Kumar.

Playing at home has its advantages but there will be enormous pressure on the side since the expectations will be very high. This team has what it takes to win the world cup after a very long time.

Certainly Indian Team had all the potential to bring WORLD CUP home again. If we see latest matches played by Indian Team, though top order failed, tail enders sustained. It mean every player is playing with winning spirit. It mean our players are very confident to win. CONFIDENCE CONQUERS,beside skills. I am sure our Country will win. JAI HIND.

On paper definitely yes ! but with the injuries to sachin, gambhir and sehwag - all our key players, it is doubtful whether they would be able to recover fully and perform at that level. Also one cant predict in cricket, it could change any moment - one bad over or one maiden over could change it all.

India in the recent past has been winning matches on "sheer luck"! If you bet on the team selected, many of them are in injury list, no wonder, India would be seen in the first or second round only! Should have selected less-known characters who would have the ambition to play for the country, therefore give their 100%. VVS is better than the best!

Why!! Test cricket is the best form of cricket and that tests the real power of a player. We should not get lost in glamor and forget the roots should we??
