According to a new research, women's career gets affected, due to bosses' misconceptions about them being prone to be in conflict between family commitments and workplace responsibilities. It says, bosses generally perceive women workers to have more family-work conflict than men, even though this isn't the case. And this belief, mistaken though it is, leads supervisors to take a negative view of women employees' suitability for promotion. These perceptual biases held for both male and female managers, both of whom are prone to give credence to stereotypical attributes ascribed to women as responsible for family, which may be seen as incompatible with leadership/managerial positions.

So I would like to like to ask a question to you all, did you too have faced this kind of situation? according to you, do bosses' misconceptions cripple women's career?

Women are definitely more reliable as far as fulfilling a work is concerned. Generally, they are more responsible, committed and die hard very hard working. Experience and routine of balancing many responsibilities help them to stay poised. Bosses who regard commitment and hard work to be important prefer women workers, whereas male preference is more for jobs entailing physical exertion. Females are better in keeping relations going.  They play well in Group Dynamics.

Yes i support to your point since even in household works she can handle more than one work at a time , at the same looking after the kids and handling their homeworks etc.

Men are not capable of handling these type of multi purpose works they dont apply their mind at all. And they are not at all responsible , every time we women have to remind them of their resposibilities and follow up with them. This will be the same attitudes in their office works also.

Women have good potential to move ahead, but when compared, it appears that their are a lot of negative trait. Managers have a tendency to categorize women as experiencing greater family-work conflict, even after controlling for family responsibilities and women's own perceptions of family-work conflict.Even though female employees actually are slightly less family-work conflict than their male counterparts, their managers still perceived them as having greater family-work conflict, a perception that had significant implications for women's organizational advancement.

The statement given by the author is only her apprehensions, that is not real, we have good constitution, Indian Constitution provide equal impotance to male and female. But their capacity to work at par with men my be a difficult question to answar. Scietifically speaking, size of the organs inside the body of a female when comapred to male is lesser in size and capacity, same may be case for their capability to work, these are all relevant only when the question of working at 100% capacity arises. Normally we never be at full capacity or expected to be so. Moreover they have the resposibilty of managing home affairs too. Their outstanding quality is their paitence and love, Sita of ramayana is tipical model for wimen. 

In the present seanario the statement, according to me is baseless.

They are saying from 1947 they need freedom why ????.  If you can say in where they are restricted ??????

It may not be 100% true with male bosses, i cannot say about female bosses' behaviour to female team mates. They have to manage both home and work. So maybe sometimes, their tiredness can be seen with their subbordinates. But this happens only sometimes with only a few people. Not always with everybody. As far as male bosses are considered, till date I've never seen any male boss behaving rudely with his female associate or subordinate.
