Celebratinga day , say mothers day or childern day are like a reminder to us . In our hectic life , these special days become a tool to sntach away time for someone -father , mother (mothers day), children day.....etc, - it should be taken as positive REMINDERS to us and let us enjoy celebrating those special days. I strongly feel that despite these whole celebration days - an invention by marketeers to steal away your money, are in fact much like , the clock reminder and bell for us that among our celebration of achieving materialistic goals, we should not forget mother , father, lovers and children and environment , it matters to people now whose precious time is being taken away by materialistic goals.

Some of d days like VALENTINE DAY donot have relevance as love remains there for true lovers. But some like CANCER DAY, NO TOBACCO DAY, AIDS DAY, have a relevance as on that particular day,we try to think of not having suffered with the conditions as celebrated by these dangerous day.

I do agree that ONE day in an year makes it too casual but then,it does help in making people realise " ohh, is this like this?" and we should do something about it! Even if 10% awareness and the desire to change things on a certain issue will go a long way in ensuring the world accepts and changes its outlook.

Janaki I agree with your statement. Even the perticular day is remembered for the reason it is being remembered half the battle will be own but unfortunately in our country no body bothers.

Yes, I agree to it Janaki. In addition to it, I would like to add that, Nominating a day also does a good business promotion. Say, a mothers day, lovers day (valentine) etc. These are , particularly, having very good potential for business.

@ Janaki I would like to know, how these "Days" are proposed to public and how they are accepted.::::::::: Anyway to the main point, Days could be an important remembrance to public. Just like we remember our Birthdays and Anniversaries etc. But as of the same case, the days lose their importance the next day. the same concept is applied to remember the various causes but sadly they also end up the same way. Until unless a greater emphasis is given to that cause and giving it a longer duration to operate, causes can never make a difference. And in this country, we need examples of making differences or else they will be washed into the over-flowing backyard garbage of publics ever increasing thought list.

Yes it is true on that specific day they get the attention alright what about the remaining 364 days/365 days they get abused. Allotting a day is not important but what we the people are doing for these people for whom a day is allotted during the course of year after year and what we the people are doing in making the governments to do something for them during the course of year after year. Women's bill is pending, child labour is still there inspite of legislation and so on so forth

We have forgotten our roots; we are traversing in unpredictable path; therefore, we have allocated specific day for specific purpose, which is not called for. Every moment is ours, every day is having a great significance. We should be indebted to our parents (Mathru Devo Bhava & Pithru Devo Bhava), teachers (Acharya Devo Bhava) and guests (athithi Devo Bhava). Every moment is Almighty's, therefore, cling on to HIM all the time.
