Cloud computing is internet based computing, whereby shared resources, software and information are provided to computers and other devices on-demand, like a public utility. It very useful for SME and and later stage for Corporates to cutting down their infrastructure cost. At large its gonna effect on them those who are related to IT infrastructure management.

Cloud computing will pick up momentum once the apprehensions about data security and issues of ready availability of Internet bandwidth are resolved or at least mitigated. Potentially, Cloud computing can definitely have an impact upon Information Technology infrastructure planning and implementation.

Keval, I support you this technology is going to affect the IT infrastructure. Earlier the IT companies were looking for large space but now just a laptop or notebook will do. So they need to reduce their space to be economical. Since IT companies are known for their infrastructures this is technology is going to have an impact on many IT infrastructure projects.

Sorry but cloud is not secure enough to "hold" the massive content of the net. I don't want my content in some shared cloud where if you hack one portion, your in ? The net will remain the net, and will expand into cloud platforms, but those platforms will not replace core facilities , NOCS, and data centers. Without those, your "cloud" would dissipated quickly, or worse.

I agree it will expand content, but will not replace core net.
