I think Ethics of a business are important though a lot of people may have different views But, everyone seems to be so money oriented that the values are no where.

Ethics do matter but what would you do with all those ethics if you get no profit?? Wouldn't that be quite useless?? Both have to be in balance.. I am not supporting profit over ethic..but I want to tell that a person gets into a buisness to earn.. He cannot live on ethics alone.. It is difficult.. Profit has to be their to survive..

I think no ethics to business, I will explain this with one example, take Satyam scam in India. The scam worth is Rs.5040 crores. If business has to follow ethics entire software business should be shut down in India, but still the business is going on even Satyam also operating business with Mahindra Technologies. In accounting and Business law concepts saying that business/compay is unique entity, even owner dies in sudden but business will be undertaken by some bosy else but business will not stop. So that ethics should be followed by the owner of the business not by the business. And it is not good thing to cross ethics to earn profit. If it is, even Binladen also doing good things for his profits, shall we accept this?

Ethics is a requirement for human life. It is our means of deciding a course of action. Without it, our actions would be random and aimless. There would be no way to work towards a goal because there would be no way to pick between a limitless number of goals. Even with an ethical standard, we may be unable to pursue our goals with the possibility of success. To the degree which a rational ethical standard is taken, we are able to correctly organize our goals and actions to accomplish our most important values. Any flaw in our ethics will reduce our ability to be successful in our endeavors.

Ethic is very ethos of any business & profit is how well did you follow your business ethics.Some businessman inculcate the feeling All is fair in Love & Business, But they don't understand that phrase is about a instance whereas BUSINESS is a ongoing perceptual process ,unscrupulous means don't last long. let me Give you an example between two big cities of India i.e Delhi & Mumbai . mumbai Is a Business hub for ages as the businessman had been following ethical way of dealing people & they speck very sweet with all business partner with huge Goodwill to built big business empires for decades.As their Ethic is pillar of their success. Unlike Delhi, which is always in influence of Kings & Landlords with Patriarch ideology , most people wants to make profit with all undefined ethics as a result it has more corruption, inequality of income , abuse of power & handful of big companies has sustained there long term goal. I totally vouch on ethic of World Business, if you make your community happy the by-product of Profit will follow unlimited to for social upliftment.

Yes Ethics do matter but gives you a lot of heart's fulfillment . But u 1 has to be prepared for all the travails 1 has to face which r many . U would be a loser , a heart burn to ur superior, sometime a loner in a crowd and what not . Yet at the end of the day it gives a lot of strength which makes u face the next day with clear consciousness . I had lost my job for following business ethics but I ve not sunk . Today I am regarded among my associates and recognzd among the crowd for the ethics I had followed . Of course ethics and success are estranged partners .

Profit without ethics is short lived and disastrous in business(Satyam Computers) Ethics supports (guarantees)profit everytime and sustains business health and lifeline. Business is well rooted in ethics always bears good fruit even in troubled waters (Lotus).

it is more to do with the aspect of life the way you want to lead,  Business men who are concerned about the brand of watch what they wear at their professional meetings could be profitable without knowing the moral ethics and principle of business,  the fact of the matter is how he gets it done,  I would say how different it is in the culture of the business.  Is it really giving the right prespective of life,  so look at the place of the activity irrespective of the person you come across,  respect the chair of the person, nothing wrong in it irrespective of age or the wage he gets.
