Why not ? When we talk and living in globaliztion world then why we do not make business and IT in such a lossely coupled manner where reaching to buisness goals and respond to compettive market changes in quick. See customer and vendors/supllier are same like 20 years back but so fast changes in their behaviour and governance scaling the rules, there should be  approach which covers corporate governance and IT givernance goal integrated the services. SOA is an answer for each solutions. Becuase we can't keep ourselevs in static where emerging markest keep chaning so fast.

I will go with it because SOA is a technological awakening, with growing complexity in both adding new business functionality/ applications and getting data for reporting needs, a move toward SOA is the only viable and pragmatic option open to enterprises. Though the move can be in short steps instead of Rip and Replace, the strategy, governance model, framework, and testing process need to be in place before the first SOA application is written

SOA is just identification methodlogy of services it helps big corporations to identify the Service of the system from 50,000 FT view but this can drive the IT fully its the cloud computing and the SAAS which dominates the market
