You need to develop skills to handle your team and your boss. Healthy politics is always welcome. But do not step out of the right path. Let any situation need not touch you.

Dear Sujit, Are you honest for someone else or yourself, is the first question that one must answer. Honesty is a quality that makes a human live like a human as also help others do the same. It does not look for rewards or care for negatives strongly believe the practitioners. It surely matters to the person weather or not to a corporate.

That's the only reason corporate world is still surviving (read thriving)- no matter what the majority of sentiment is, honesty drives projects and assignments to frution. Now whether or not honesty is rewarded or acknowledged is a function of luck and conscience.

Yes I admit too....Honesty is the best policy...may be people can ignore you, they may not noticing you, but somewhere you know that you are right....and you get the faith from GOD as well so no matters whether somebody is relying on you or not but if you hear from your heart that you did it right or did it wrong....that you can't digest that thing....so I thing being an honest is the best policy...

I accept that Honesty incorporate life is the least preferred issue. but its lucky that these corporate heads expect honesty from their colleagues... The system is corrupt and we ourselves are corrupt... and it hadto be accepted by all of us... I have graduated from UDCT ( now UICT) .UDCT graduate Seniors since last 40 years used Sulphuric acid to burn my father's life, created misery in my mother's Life and spoilt my sister's life and RUINED MY PERSONAL LIFE( My husband Mr Shenay a SMUGGLER AND HAD AIDS ) .These Seniors are all DISHONEST AND RUN and are owners of BIG MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES.They are CORPORATE GIANTS. They have used Concentrated Sulphuric acid to FINISH MY FAMILY. AAND ME AND MY FAMILY HONEST FAMILY.SO WHERE IS HONESTY IN CORPORATE WORLD. THIS UDCT( UICT) IS DIRTY INSTITUTE AND FILLED WITH ALL DISHONEST PEOPLE.Honesty has no place in corporate world. so what do yu say about Honesty .people everywhere laugh at our family because we are honest.

I fully support Alex's comment. In my field of work, I can be nothing less than honest. Honesty is the best policy. If you are an honest professional, then you will have a clean slate. No one will point their fingers at you. It does not matter if everyone else is being dishonest. Just be true in whatever you do not only in the corporate world but also in your personal life.

Respect & Honesty are the 2 basic building blocks of human relationships. It is much better than having to remember all the excuse and lies, if one chooses to lie. As far as corporate life is concerned one needs to strike a balance between what information needs to be shared and what not. Lying through your teeth & or even lying by omission certainly is short-term gain and longterm loss. Besides honesty is peace of mind atleast for me :-)

It is the most sensitive issue to discuss.People can even talk openly about matters relating to sex but while talking about honesty;people are bound to be dishonest and cry being the most honest person.Who can deny dishonesty in corporate affairs?-Satyam fraud stands testimony to that,Union carbide gas leaks,Greek Debt crisis,Housing bubble and foul play by banking officials,sudden nosedive of share market,companies polluting environment and shouting about going green!! A close look at the Corporate world conveys clearly that how Honesty is smacked by so called men of integrity and honesty sitting at the helm of Honest corporate!! No, honesty does not work in corporate. Only pretending to be honest works. All the genuin people wish to be very honest in corporate but the corporate culture does not allow them to be honest. It forces them to go in wrong path. In reality honest employees do not grow as fast as dis-honest employees. If any employee wants to be promoted, then he has to be very nice to his superior & his honesty does not work there. It is surprising but still is a fact.

There is nothing like "honesty". The term has been diluted to mean only "Selective Honesty". Selective honesty is not honesty. Not to confuse "honesty" with being "fair", I would say that in corporate world, success comes to people who are generally fair, not to those who are honest.

who is interested in honesty not your boss or his boss upto to the top echelon they are interested in yes men in the corporate world. in the social world you dont find honest people succeeding and there may be few exceptions here and there but exception proves the rule. Honesty is necessary if you want to have a clean conscience.
