Does IE 9's 2.35 million downloads in the first 24 hours really impressed you?

Recently, IE 9 hit 2.35 million downlaods in the first 24 hours of its launch. IE has already started limping with other browsers giving it a stiff competition. Mozilla Firefox, the current record holder of over 8 million hits of its launch, is yet to be surpassed by IE9. So, does IE 9's 2.35 million in the first 24 hours really impressed you?

A Big NO. Firefox acquired the Guinness world record for most software downloads in a day in 2008 itself. Should IE be a little bit more cautious and think of future ahead in the highly competitive browser war.

Okay, so 2.35 million downloads in a single day is nothing to scoff at, but it's also not a monumental achievement in terms of browser downloads in the first 24. A post to Internet Explorer's official blog used the word 'wow' to describe the IE9 numbers, but considering Firefox 3 got the Guinness world record for most software downloads in a day, with 8 million way back in 2008, I am reluctant to call this news wow-worthy. Given, Firefox 3 was available for both Mac and PC, but it still beat Windows' new browser three times over. Don't get me wrong, I like IE9, but I still think a little bit of modesty goes a long way.

yes it may possible. Because most of the systems in the world uses IE, which is in built with the OS. Whenever you are connected with the internet automatically IE9 will be loaded in to your system. It may be possible, but IE is not worthy tool :)

JOY, its a real treat to see you in my domain but no JOY to see you not updating your own OS that sometimes lets you write lines that are archaic and weak just like the Microsoft OS. What I meant here was explicit downloading and not the one that you were referring to - implicit downloading where you get the automatic updates from Windows. So, does it still sound a news to you now??

Yes, Microsoft has found its way to many laptops/computers not because people love MS but because of its ruthless marketing tactics in its early years which is still continuing even now - an MS tradition, I guess. It has lost its space to Google in the mobile OS because it could not replicate its dirty tactics there and will soon lose its space to Compuer OS as well. Once this happens, you will see the decline of IE.

Saibal you sometimes write witty. Microsoft bashing is easy, if you are not domain user else windows updates are not blocked; IE 9 will find its way into the system, if it is a genuine windows copy.

I now have IE 9 I did not download,

In this circumstance a 2.3 million download in 24 hours isn't it a news?

Do you understand? Dear!!

You can still continu your line of Microsoft bashing life long, head on... get set go......
