Businessmen in India have to face a lot of constraints from government, customers etc. Mostly all the business involves bribing. most of the government clearances has to be got through bribing. So is businessmen in India behave ethically is a question yet to be answered

No business can be run on ETHICS ALONE!!

As long as you have government officials to deal with, Ethics will go for a toss. Why only government, but large production houses, companies that engage external vendors for production or even subcontract to manufacture OEM materials have to face these situations!! You see its not about bribing alone, its also about time, delivery and aquiring materilas at all stages that makes ethics take a back seat.

Police, Law custodians, terrorists you name any faction that always and always works ethically alone.... No one can. In fact lets understand that till such time as there are aspirations alive and disparity in salaries in private and government sectors.... UNETHICAL practices will strive!!

Well, if we see this thing from bookish point of view, its unethical. But in a country like India, businessmen have no other option. Unlike the develop countries like USA, our government is not simple. It is full of complexities in which doing business is not easy, your hard work is never recognised in this nation and on the top of that, whatever success you acquire, more than half of it goes in taxes. What can a poor businessman do in this situation. Thats the reason, he bribes the government just to survive himself.

I agree that no business can survive with ethics alone. But I have seen many who trade illegally and making a lot of money evading taxes. And thats not only unethical but also criminal. Those black money will be dumped in their safes or other places or it will be used to buy land or other luxury items evading taxes. That makes the rich richer and the poor poorer

Its completely unethical. These businessmen bribe the government and make their works done. For a common man, its impossible to do such things. These businessmen don't pay proper taxes and hide their black money just by bribing and because of their all these unethical practices, we, common men suffer.
