Today mostly everybody sees a job as a source just to earn & fill his/her bank balances. A job is an opportunity to explore one's capabilities & learn new things.....but a recent study said that the attitude of people is changing they are inclined to jobs that pay just more than enough...
I have to take the yes side by hearing to many of my frnds & by studying the attitude of people I work with. I was surprised to see that people are least bothered about the opportunities a job provides them & are more worried about the pay.
So, I guess it clearly says that money is more important than job profile.

No, job is not only about how much money we are making.
yes... money is a big concern when talking about a job but not the major concern. I think in any job the work culture is very important.if work environment is not good in a job then no matter how much money we are getting....we can't give our 100 % in that job and at some point of time we have to leave that job. Job Security is again a big issue because if job security is not there then money makes no sense.
So i think money comes later in priority list.

I would like to add one more point here.Whoeversays hr No,Money is not that important to them should ask just one question to themselves why did then they have'nt pusued the goals which they really wanted to(this however may not apply to everyone) become in first place say writer, painter, sportsperson etc. They were somehow stopped or told not to as the future in these fields were not good or bright. The first thing one eyes is where can they really make it large. If money isnt important then why do we keep switching our jobs every now and then(We cannot say here exploring as we can also explore by staying in the same job). Why dont we choose other fields where we wont get fat cheques but will give us satisfaction and joy which cannot be matched.

what purpose they are earning while doing job in software or any where else . just for fulfilling the basic things like food ,cloth and want to buy house and to live a luxurious life/descent life. mainly it means freedom to access anything through money. how did they get money through doing work. so job in case is just for earning to fulfill their own desire/need. i have to ask you one question if you are going for job for growth in technical knowledge with out considering the money. if they pay what you get is not fulfilled your needs what would you do ? whether you continue in the same job for learning newthing ? it is not possible like. grow in the sense of paying hike will boost more and more to concentrate on work that yield enhanced result By

Three years back i went out in search of a career.....what i found was for employers money means everything and its not that i only worked under a creep.. those were big companies with enormous reputation. The world of business is based on money and it has to be.... so now if i am earning money for someone i expect a fair share of it, that's what a job means to me now. (N.B. I am more of a professional who happened to work under somebody out of choice and for experience. This attitude may harm in some cases) By

As all the Pandit "love your work not your company" from this point of view people just switch for the new company for money mostly because in this time if you are geeting a oppurtunity to get good money then you will go because of two reason
1 You never know when you will be fired and if you are not having enough bank balance then you are gone.
2. You also sees a growth option inspite of money.
but at last aftre 5-6 year of work exp people just need money as teh only thing nowadayz yoy living for.
You can take it liek this you are working because to eat to live and to enjoy and for all these things you need money.
At last i just want to say that nowadayz money is importnat but for money you must have knowledge toe arn that money.
I won’t say No. I just want to earn as much as I can to fulfill my wishes & my parents. I will get experience slowly & gradually. And if I will be happy with that firm, will continue or else I will switch my Job to earn more to get married, respect, status in a firm & in society.
And after that being a talented & experienced person I will negotiate my Salary as per my Experienced Talent.

I have just started my career so I don't think for fresher, job satisfaction is more important than money.I think now a days money is the thing which satisfies you more rather than job.We switch jobs because of money(This is the primary reason). So now we talk about money satisfaction not job satisfaction. But in the end every thing has a limit. So when we will satisfy with money then will go for job satisfaction. There is so much to learn about the new technologies and about the new people so why not we should switch the job for money. No work is less, just we need to keep this in mind.If someone is paying more then it means he will also get some useful work from you.But before this I think there should be one IDEATE.The topic should be "What is job satisfaction".My answer for this is the Money.Job satisfaction and job profile are directly proportional to Money now a days. The major reason when we do not satisfy with the job is when there is not proper planning and we do the redundant work again and again.

We are getting experience on a particular post just to grab high post for more money .. We are changing our jobs continuously just for hike in wages.
Yes work experience enhance our style of working, innovation etc. but we want to redeem them immediately in terms of money. If our companies will allow us to take unlimited numbers of leave with pay we will accept the proposal immediately because we need money. We are working for money. But we have some self respect so we choose the atmosphere of working as per our choice but again work for money otherwise we are happy if "X" lottery will give us money..

If not what? Why we join a job? Is it for a charity work. The first and foremost reason joining a job is money. Then follows all other. According to Maslow's Need theorty 1) Psychological needs are the at the bottom of the pyramid. Net to it Safety needs which includes financial needs. Next is 3) Love and belonging. Then comes 4) Esteem needs and at the top is 5) Self actualisation.

Money is a first choice which attracts a person towards a job. Although,it fulfills the basic needs,it is not the last option. Now,more important concern is an excellent work culture, career growth,a good team members, challenges, and most important is the job satisfaction. If all these factors are not there, whatever you pay will not be sufficient to keep the employee intact within the organisation or motivate him to contribute above his potential. So, in my view money is not the major concern in the job. It comes first in the list until and unless you are settled down. After that it takes the back seat and the rest comes in the first place....

So in addition to that, some employees don’t care very much about their jobs they just want to make money.

Job satisfaction in terms of your job profile is what is important. even if you earn less but at the end of the day if you get that appreciation , you have made your day. when management accept you as an asset to the company , knows your worth and listens to your opinion you know where you stand .Of-course money is part of the job. but its not the central theme. You can earn hell lot with little contribution but then your ethics will sooner or later pinch you.

In other words one should earn money not at the cost of every thing else like family life and social life. unfortunately, I have seen people engrossed so much on earning that they almost become slave.

nope absolutely not. Money is not the only thing we look into job there are several other factors which turns our attraction on to that job. If we will go through the Maslow's need hierarchy we will find out that to workers(low level), money will be the most motivating factor and it will be the driving force for them to work hard, so for them money would be the most important thing in the job. If we look up to second level of supervisors, money and some sort of security would play the significant role. In this way as we move higher and higher in this hierarchy money will lose importance and it will not be the only important thing for peoples.

Today in this modern world, We live in a big society that is composed of people from all walks of life. Different jobs have different functions in this society. So many people like cleaners, security persons etc earning less money than those businessmen, but they still work heart and soul on their duties. I believe it is the contributions they make to society that makes them work that hard. Some of them spend their whole lives inventing new things, exploring the mysterious things and innovating new technology.if everyone in this society worked only for money, what can it turn out to be? Severe competitions my make people become cold-blooded, force them to use illegal means in order to make profit, or even commit some crimes. And the relationships among people might become estranged.I think money cannot be the most important aspect of a job. Money is not everything! As a saying goes: Money can buy a house but cannot buy a family, money can buy blood but cannot buy one’s life, money can buy a wife but cannot buy true love,”. By

Peace of mind is very important in any activity, be it a job or non-paying activity. When there is complete job satisfaction, the human mind starts to think beyond that job alone. Maybe inventions have occurred in this way. In a high paying job suppose you have a nagging boss or have to do something which you completely dislike, sooner or later it will show in your performance and health.

Job should not connote only money as it is a short sighted objective that cannot be sustained for long in the future. Even if it is sustained, the individual will not be able to obtain maximum satisfaction. Hence, the true focus of a job should preferably be on individual job satisfaction in order to ensure maximum output. However, if circumstances dictate otherwise, then adequate steps could be taken to the extent possible to ensure that money is not the only end to the means used....
Thanks for the referral, Natteraja....

Only one day I receive salary in my account, 2 days to plan for expenditure.
Other than these 3 days, rest all days work thrills me more.

Well Ms. Dharshana, in my views money is not everything, of course money is important. Everybody wants to make money but that should be properly earned and spent. One should not become slave to money that will lead to greedy and make involve in bad indulgence. The moneyed men can not sleep well if it has been earned through some foul methods. The earning of money should help the needy people. Every business organization motive is to maximize its profit, but look at the employment opportunities created. Whether employer or employee, both are inter-dependent to serve their own purposes. The money earned by the employees goes to their families to cater their needs and the money earned by the companies goes to their families, their employees, to the government in the form of duties & taxes, and to the society in case of organizations interested in social responsibility.
