Krishna I don't think so. MBA is still a honorable degree and its value will never go down. You will be respected if you are a MBA degree holder. And MBA has its importance and will continue having it because it is not like other industries/sector which goes up and down. Whatever the field may be it needs a management to run it.

Thanks....

I would like to say that since more and more people are opting for MBA, and more institutions are coming with MBA course not changing the value of its course. Instead it shows that it is having demand. Management courses are definitely required and always having demand

Well, MBA as a qualification is a solid thing to have in one's portfolio. Basically, education is a plus point and to have an MBA degree in one's area of interest or specialisation is pretty handy. Many established companies or corporates look at smart and dynamic people who have a good management background to support their business use cases. For this to happen, they hunt for management people who can drive their business. So, to become a management individual, it helps to have an MBA degree. If one can get into top schools like IIM, ISB, SP JAIN, XLRI and other schools, it can take them a long way in their careers. Yes, I am for pursuing MBA and its an important qualification to have.

I don't think so. Every Degree and knowledge has its own importance. In my opinion one should not think in a way that is there importance to degree or not. What I believe is there always is importance to knowledge. I am not denying the fact that degree has a value I just want to say just Degree is not enough.

MBA education , of late, has become a money-making proposition. However, talented you are, unless you are given practical exposure in the functional areas, its another degree to your credit.  COMMON SENSE is the rule of the Game, and many tend to search for solution from top authors for which solution lies within.  There, again, exists a huge gap in the methodology and approach in MNCs and Indian corporates.  In MNCs you have linkage between line and staff across the globe, whereas in Indian Corporates, the linkages are narrow-centric.  Many of the top bosses in the Indian Corporates do not possess basic qualification, and by virtue of their own experience in the industry and the loyalty shown to the owners have elevated them to a newer height.  In such environment, notwithstanding your education from Harvard or Oxford, none of your educational instincts in finding solution will be accepted, but their own.  If you have a good MBA from a reputed B-School, your education will matter only when you are in Right Place with Right People in Right Time, otherwise your expenditure in obtaining Masters in Business Administration is akin to B.A. Corporate Affairs or B.A. Economics degree from a reputed institution.

MBA as degree is valued if it provides better industry interface and should provide exposure to practical aspects of business. As mushrooming of MBA institutes across the country are more of profit center than center of learning. It has resulted in producing ill equipped MBA gradutes, which is danger signal for Management education.
