Should interact with Media,But Being a PM of a Nation,Tina;"He is not supposed to Disclose the internal stategies / Plans to the media". Of-course He has to keep on improving with his team & Remember mumbai attacks are again a failure of our intelligence system, thats needs to be redefined & transformed to act atleast 50% to that of scotland yard.... But a Good Debate.....

I would say if the PM meets the media on a live program where t public needs to ask t issues atleast weekly once for 2 hours then the PM would come to know what is t problem arising in his own country is the public safe is t government members doing their duties on time only to take the votes they do the canvas after the election no body turns back n sees whats happening in their own wards or in their own areas Thanks Tina for referral

Tina I agree with you totally on the subject. There is no harm to address the nation on various problems being faced by the country and what remedial steps are taken. Alternatively give a television interview and inform the nation about the plans. He is a great man but allergic to photo session.

The Prime Minister should interact with the media if for no other reason but to dispel the migivings reported in the press and to maintain healthy relationship between the government and the media. The public shouldf know the mind of the P.M. on verious issues raised and reported in the press.

Yes Tina He should meet Media & address Public Meeting in order to keep country informed about govts. projects, policies & functions of the Govt. Not advised to avoid these due to time constraints. He will also get instant feed back on his ministers & their governance from the People & media.

Media is no more a source of News, but a very good source of entertainment. They also follow political parties and they do follow politicians instructions to broadcast what they want to show us! Anyways apart from this I also believe that PM or someone from its office should address media sometimes to update us with their plans and policies.

yes , PM should speak whenever required i.e. some of the issue after getting ripe seeks PM's view/opinion and if at that time nothing comes out , people gets depressed and start blaming government , which indirectly impacts popularity of the government . Thus for the matter of trasperancy PM's view on different crtical issues is required to known by public and if sepakes many of the issues are set to rest . So it is good for the government that PM speaks whenever it is required .

At least he should speak, it may be that Sonia Gandhi doesnot give him that freedom or sound configuration is not done in his system or may be deactivated by Sonia Gandhi

In the past, PMs addressed the Nation, in the event of, National distress(calamity) or an immediate Security threat or on special Occasion to share the joy & pleasure of the people. It was a practice adopted but, if required , can be refined & made suitable to the present. Mean to say that, technology has given as so many medias & it's being perceived by all irrespective of the location; and communication reached a different dimension such as SMS,MMS, TWIT,FB, E-mail, personal blog , chat etc. its use can be augmented to publicize his (PMs) work. Mere publicity is not desirable by many but, allowing people to understand his views, irrespective of political parties, help reach people to contribute more to achieve his vision /goal. By frequent appearance & adopting various communication tools help a leaders job very easy. Mean to say:-
- Image of the political party is elevated.
- Visions of the leader is publicized widely
- Maintain the leader with people's contact
- Help media active in the Industry
- Oppositions effort to tarnish image gets relegated
- Help his follower & the party machinery to adopt his principle quickly.

PM Must meet Media and explain the reason for change in Prices, Policies, PM should not burden common man by price hike when his own ministers are favouring few avaiation companies by not paying Public sector oil companies on time PM should start giving social audit accounting of all activites promised by his team before coming to power and what is achieved, People are sharp enough to understand the Inflation and world crisis, PM is responsible for his ministers as well, it can not be one party based ministeries any more.. i think thats enough for you media people to understand... Yes, he is expected. He need not pop on the screen every now and then. But, when the situation warrant him to intervene and clear the clouds, he is expected to talk to the people through the media. No need to call the media editors and meet them in person. He can make use of "Doordarshan" as suggested by Mr. Muralidharan to reach the people. No matter whether DD is watched by people or not, other channels will carry the message anyway.

Oh yes, if the PM has control over the situation he is in, he needs to address the media - not often, but I would rather put it once every six months. However, in our case, its the Italian Congress President and not the Indian Prime Minister who has the reins in her hands. So all that media address is just an eyewash and will reap no results. We see it often in a corporate set up too where the chairman addresses the media during the closing Financial Year on its performance etc. The same should be applied here too that would bring in some kind of connection between the government and its people. Lets not perceive this as a mimic of the west where the president address the public on a regualar basis but as a strategy to build confidence on the public to its prgrammes. But, all in all, in the current context of the Indian government set up, its a no-no. Would be better if Manmohan shows to the public by his performance and Sonia addresses the media on Manmohan's performance.

Our PM doesnot even know the common Indian languages/dialects ( Hindi, Tamil etc), so how do you think he can address to the people of India. He is the prime minister as a result of internal differences of congress ministers. While in the past the political parties had it's leader, who had got medals for working among the people, for the people. ( Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Morarjee Desai etc). It's really unfortunate that our representatives chose a PM, who for the last 8 years has been an unknown figure to the common indian public. Nobody knows really, what he works, what he thinks..what his plans are. A mystery since the time he is on the seat. Where do you really think India is going.., when we ourselves never know, who is leading and where ? Shame! :( The govt. of India seems today like an MNC, where you can find leaders labelled as managers. But you may hardly find them doing any work... and just acting like puppet.

He should keep on working in a proper manner and should make his colleges to work properly. If it is there he need not to meet media every now and then. The main reason to see media and clarify the things is that lot many scandals taking place and agitation goes on against these. In fact he was a bureaucrat before joining the politics and thats why he is not able to control the ministers. I consider him as a sincere and obedient person but not the politician. If he want to avoid meeting media then he should have full control. But how he can because he is controlled by some one other. Remote control is somewhere else.

Fake Congress(I) Party - Where I stands for Indira not India No point in arguing with People who are supporting the Fake Gandhis & Fake Congress (I) Party This Congress(I) party is Fake, bcoz it is not the Congress Party of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose or Mahatma Gandhi but it is the Party of Fake Indira Gandhi, i.e., Congress(I), where I stands for Indira not India - or in other words Indira Congress .......
This proves that, this Fake Gandhi family don't believe in India but their family only. They don't have faith in their Party men & workers too ..... They are not running a national party but a Personal/Family party for Looting & Terrorising India........
This message is to be conveyed to all the Indians who are being fooled by these Fake Gandhis for years, they have no shame in asking vote for Indira Congress but not for Indian National Congress. The Fake Gandhis have converted India for Indira, shame shame shame to all these Fake Gandhis & the Fake Congressmen (Indira) looting & terrorizing India ........

South Asian hipocrites are not matured enough to handle criticisms. Hence it is not suitable for PM to meet the media often, else he'll have to hear these kind of headlines - a).Manmohan has been misguided: BNP leader b).Manmohan's remarks could complicate matters: Sharif

Prime Minister of this country has a Government machinery, viz., "Prasar Bharathi"! He should use the medium of "Doordarshan" to give his perspectives every week! On contentious issues, he should be prepared to meet the Editors of both the print and electronic media, with a rider, not closed door, the entire proceedings should be televised!

The esteemed post called the Prime Minister of the Peoples Republic of India has enormous responsibility as well as tremendous work-pressure so any person in that post must rather than facing media by himself, a representative or spokesperson must be authorized for these negligible tasks. We the people of India elected and selected him to work and not to act funny by facing the "Sold Out" media in any form, may it be printed or visual. His concentration must be on work only otherwise what difference will be there between the cheap self propagating persons and Prime Minister if he comes to media often. Moreover this will be a unwanted and unnecessary disturbance in the schedule of Prime Minister.
