Yes, School taking high fees, do render good eductation, Imagine a school Management taking low fees, and paying 2500~5000 to a teacher -will we get good quality faculty. To hire good faculty high payment is require, and hence high fees. But however, exception are there. Problem lies with our eduction system, syllabus- which are old, need to be revised as per the present requirement of the progressive ecomony.

I thought we were talking about smarts here, not how much college vs. non-college grads are pulling in financially. I'm just saying that the average poly-sci major probobly knows a lot more in his field of study than your average non-college grad working a 9-5 lunch pail job when it comes to political science. There are exceptions.... I know that you are pretty well versed when it comes to ancient religions/ religious studies. And, you would definitely be an exception to that rule.....But, lets face it.....most non-college grads are focused on their families, jobs, and watching sports on tv. Not very many of them are picking up books to further their education when it comes to history, the arts, or sciences in their free time.

Yes, its my personal experience in PROTON business school that we got all the things required for better performance in present trends of hardcore competition, we have lectures on VC from the world around on hot topics and can interact with experts sitting abroad through net and video conferencing, so blaming smart schools for making money is rather too much unjustified as everyone makes money, its' a kind of give n take because the best technology requires the best investment also and this factor can't be ignored.

Yes they are. Today only few schools have the access to latest technology and syllabus. They are really doing good and students pass out from those schools are much better and smarter than the other school students.

True to a certain extent.. but the smart school tech has to be backed up with extensive training for faculty to make the best use of it and deliver better education. It brings quicker and efficient learning among the gennext kids

No, Not at all. Not much can be told here as it has a lot of scientific research & learning involved to explain what the child may go through if they do not get the elementary education in a right manner... Parents and teachers should not forget that they have to develop the children not for their benefits but for the child's benefit. The child is the future citizen of any country.....

Definitely, not. parents always have instinct that, bigger infrastructure schools give students their highest potential in giving them but rather most of the schools are never bothered about the development of an individual and they rather need government support and not student's life.

New Technology only limits the power of brain to think and imagine. Besides it's also initiated to make profit where there is less stress towards traditional formal education and more towards OHP, colourful AC classrooms, big play grounds presentations, and etc which are for high school or degree schools.

It is so unfortunate that these days education system have become a profit oriented business. At the same time we have many category of subjects of education made available due to this.

I am not familiar with the "Smart Schools" initiative in India, but I am very familiar with the trend here in the U.S. and elsewhere in the West which tends to believe that the primary solution to all problems in education are to be resolved by a) commercialization of the education system; and b) advanced technology. Our experience here has been that commercialization of education ONLY serves to increase the profits of those offering such credentialing and the indebtedness of the students, parents and education departments which purchase such services. Likewise, whereas it is extremely important for both educators and educational institutions to keep up with the latest trends in technological development, it is foolishness to think that "machines" or "systems" can resolve our most fundamental problems in education. In the final analysis, in my opinion the principal problem faced by our schools today is the diminishing attention span of both our students and our teachers (as written about elsewhere here on TooStep in response to another argument)...which is itself symptomatic of the negative impact over time on the human mind by technology, namely, television, video games and the internet.

When the Govt. has no answer to it, these things tend to happen. Govt. schools are nothing but worse. Reservations in education system shall be discouraged. People lost confidence in Govt. schools. Its the successive Govt's. failure to come up with education reforms from the gross route level. Education is made the best business area and private educational institutions are robbing the people left and right. When there is no other choice people are running behind these schools and colleges in anticipation of providing good education to their children. But, these private educational institutions are more concerned for making profits and strengthening their chain of institutions rather than providing good education to the students.
