The unemployment rate for the general population, 9.5 percent, jumps to nearly 15 percent when young people ages 20-24 are separated from the composite figures. Timing is everything and, because of economic cycles, their birthdays and other factors beyond their control, the timing of this year's graduating class couldn't have been more abysmal.

There is some evidence, though, that a fraction of Generation Next's job woes may be of their own doing. Call it the unintended consequence of coming of age in the era of My Space, Facebook, Twitter, You Tube and other social media.

So users, do you think social media over-exposure can kill job prospects?

The amount of addiction social media is causing is killing working hours time to users because of which the overall productivity gets effected. Employees are spending more time on social networking time than on office works. So I think, social media over-exposure really kills job prospects.

Yes i do think so. Too much of socialising and talking too much over issues leads to the person where he/she is. As said too much of everything is bad. Social networking is necessary but there should be a limit of it.

Too much of anything is troublesome. Oflate the intervension of media has been at large. It can create a negative impact. Somewhere we need to bring control on the media.

I dont think so. Over-exposure might take some of our time but in long run, it somehow increased the productivity as it keeps people active and open to all. A person who remain in contact with friends, colleagues etc. has a 'feel-good' factor n it has been proved scientifically that a person who feels good, work efficiently! So, if used properly, I think it'll increase the job-prospect. "All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy"

Although, over is always bad and nothing should be over, but the benefit being derived from social media are immense thus we need to encourage this. I feel its more beneficial to organizations, because more and more professional are using it thus incase of any help from outer word you are getting it from your connections in social media. We also can not forget the platform being utilized by companies for marketing.
