Business education is the big thing Inidia right now. Bschools are drawing in more and more students based on the Average salary packages hyped up t a large extent.

But still, the most affected stakeholders, the students don't have a credible source of information.

When getting your MBA, does the college you do it from really matter? What if you cannot get into the top 15 bschools in India? What if it is a tier 2 college?

Does the brand name of your bschool matter in the long run? say 2 years from passing out of the college? Would the brand name affect your growth at a later point?

Give in your views, does the brand name of bschools really matter?

YES... IT HAS & IT SHALL ALWAYS MATTER !

Ask this question to any IIM, Harvard, Oxford Graduate, who has passed out not 2 BUT 20 Years before... Once an IIM Alumni, Always an IIM Alumni.

Such a Brand on your back always matters, as it REMINDS your Future Employees that you were amongst the VERY FEW who could step into such an Illustrious Educational Institute.

It is a nice debate Varun & since you have initiated it, let me stress... It is not just B School Brands that matter, the School which created your Base is equally important.

If this was not the case, then WHY bother which B School you take admission in ? If it all depends on INDIVIDUAL BRILLIANCE, why not do one of those Correspondence MBA Degrees' ?

If we go percentage wise... U will find 100% Grads from an IIM above Par & probably 2% from a regular MBA College above par. This difference itself justifies why Recruitment at an IIM for example is such a prestigious affair as compared to the rest.

Happy Debating Friends !

It is the caliber of the individual that plays the role.

In India, CAT has turned in the wrong direction. Go for coaching, do mocks, get bright %iles. Can this really choose the best students for a choosen field?

Yes,school brand name matter in your carrier growth and professional linkages. Mainly it is due to the quality which reflects in your personality, behaviour, application of commonsense etc. Moreover, very strong alumni of these B Schools make them further strong.

Varun amazing debate thanks for initiating ........

I support you, in India they have created an image like that. Earlier the brand name matters but now only the exposure and the talent of an individual matters. Nowadays companies started looking for talents instead of percentage. So whatever B school it may be, at the end of the day it is your talent and knowledge which is going to help you......

I don't think India is ready for that kind of marketing as yet. If you consider Interruption Marketing, it still has a very strong hold in the indian market where the average amount of time is spent mostly on TVs than internet. Creating exciting and...
