Does the credit crunch affect students?

Economic downturn, falling markets, the lending crisis - these issues might get excited, but they don’t do much for the rest of us. No, we’d rather turn the page for wars, scandal and famine unless, of course, someone greedy loses all their money. That can be gratifying. But you don’t have to read the Financial Times - or study Economics - to realise that the current financial climate does not look bright. House prices are falling (though some say this is a good thing), it is becoming more difficult to get a mortgage or a loan, and a couple of banks seem to have disappeared down the plughole. But does the credit crunch affect students and, in if so, how?
