Somebody said "Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder". And one more "It is not the external beauty but the internal beauty which really matters". If this post is only about the entertainment industry, people want to see the external beauty for a brief period of time - for the duaration of the show.

You are absolutely right in saying that the light make up keeps women look attractive but a heavy chemical based make up will definitely spoil her beauty in coming times. But in most of the cases the make up masks the ugliness of a woman also.

Two humourous anecdotes to illustrate this: a woman looks really good for some time with a whole lot of make-up. As she grows older she looks the same (because of the make-up) but it takes her that much longer to look that way. A Good looking woman - Men are wary of what she looks like the next day morning

I recently saw Dev Anand's Hum Dono (Rangeen). As I sat in awe looking at Sadhna minus the make up, I couldn't help but say it 'Make up HIDES natural beauty.' Make up is temporary pleasure but in the long run takes away the natural sheen and innocence. I prefer NO MAKE UP. Just little Vaseline and ready to go :)

Very difficult question to answer since it depends from person to person. The reason i put my vote for this is becuase basically one has to feel beautiful inside first. Then whatever you wear on the outer side doesnt matter. Also there are some people who will look beautiful only if they apply make-up like the pics you have provided and some more like kajol who look much more beautiful without make-up. I would go to say that it only accentuates a womans beauty further. But overtly done, it does spoil both natural and artificial beauty of a woman.

Make up is an art. It enhances the natural beauty of what one possess. Market cosmetics, apparels, jades, shoes, bags etc are a few tools, normally, selected by people to hold their image a bit aloft from others. Proper care , be taken when using cosmetics as directed by the manufacturer .Otherwise, it may yield adverse effect temporarily. World wide guys and girls are using make-up irresistibly.

every body is concious about their beauty and thers is no credibility in the argument if they are using herbal product as a cosmetic agent. And it will not make any harm to the skin and will keep it as healthy. Before applying any cosmetic agent you should know about your skin and proper method to enrich your skin.one product will effectively work on some people that doesnt mean that it will give the same or worst to others.you have to be vigilant on the product and your skin while choosing the cosmetic product to keep a healthy skin

make up is good for healthy skin only if they are using natural beauty product(herbal) and have to follow proper steps prior and post application. One who is concious about thier beauty should know more about their skin and have to apply appropriate matterial and efficient method.for eg curcumin/kasthuri manjal are well known for their fairness effect.

There’s being a lot of subjective arguments, for once let’s be objective, Disha by the pegs that you have posted, they are celebs and they have to pay a price for what they are. Now having said that, no ways are they commoners or the girl next door as for Common women, use of light make-up does not ruin there natural beauty rather enhances it.

I think NOT. The whole purpose of make-up is : 1. To protect your skin from the harsh environment ; if it does this well , your skin should retain its natural beauty for much longer. 2. To accentuate your plus points and mask your blemishes ; again , if it does this without any side effects , it can only help you retain your natural beauty. Make-up has earned a bad name because of the chemicals used , and because it is not applied well. With the right materials and in the hands of an expert , make-up has no long-term bad effects. Haven't women used henna for hundreds of years ? Nowadays , natural make-up creams which use milk , almonds and other safe materials are very much in fashion.

depends on the effect the woman is trying to achieve....if seeking to attract attention then it can be undesirable if its subtle and applied to enhance the woman's features and for surgical purposes etc then there can't be any objection to it.

If proper care is taken for make up which is in 3 stages i.e. Pre- make-up, during application, after make-up, then there will not be any harm in putting it to the face, but it should be of good & std. quality. Mostly problem arise due to low quality of cosmetics & careless attitude for removing make-up.

I doubt whether you intended to mean that make up is applying cosmetics or is it the one which is used in film industry. Make up (applying cosmetics) is not a miracle whereby beauty can be imbibed on any surface, be it face or body. It is just the marketing technique of Companies to sell their product like hot cakes. However the makeup used in Film industry is different and it is temporary too (a best example is the Dashaavatharam of Kamal Hassan) Make up has its limitations and its benefits too. Applying cosmetics enhances the external appearances of a person, it does not increase or decrease natural beauty in any case. Extensive use of such chemicals may harm your skin and other parts of the body. But such enhancement has now become a social requirement. Can you name any celebrity or any other average girl who will not apply cosmetics while going for a get together or a marriage?
