Brain has no gender. You are controlled by five elements, be it man or woman, air has no odour, water has no taste, fire does not discriminate, earth holds everyone, same is ether. Therefore, it is not a gender-oriented world. Whosoever does a job, if performed with passion, he / she becomes dominant. Let's not confuse things, create gender inequity in everything we attempt.

Managing human resources in a company is probably like managing children in a family ; it requires almost the same qualities of understanding human nature , problem solving ,  the art of negotiation and conflict resolution , and the ability to bring out the best in people under you / with you.

The good thing is you are paid for doing it well !

There is really no reason why women should be better at it than men.

When men and women are competing in all other areas of work , they will compete in the field of HR also , but there is no large scale study which says that they are better at it.

Does anyone think that women actors are better than men actors , or that female musicians are better than male musicians ?

in my opinion, both women and men have equal oppurtunities in the field of HR. Gender is not an issue as long as one is capable of carrying out their work efficiently and producing the desired result. An organisation wants the best employee to work for them, be it a man or a woman.

Gender dominance is still there in many corporates i too have experienced it. Being a women i have been dumped in certain situations. At the same time am happy right now HR field is dominated by women bcoz Women have some patience, listening capacity and she can empathy more when compared with men. These qualities made her to be dominant in this particular field.

THANK YOU KIRTI,NOT ONLY IN HR ,TODAY IN ANY FIELD YOU TAKE WOMEN HAVE STARTED MAKING INROADS,ACHIEVING BETTER THINGS FASTER BY THEIR SHEER DETERMINATION,DEVOTION AND DEDICATION.THOUGH BRAIN HAS NO GENDER AS MENTIONED BY BARUN JHA,WHAT IS IMPORTANT IT HAS TO BE UTILISED TO THE FULLEST POSSIBLE EXTENT.WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT BRAIN WEIGHT DOES NOT DIFFER BETWEEN GENDERS.

Well, gone are the days when men concede a domain or a few to women.

Now they are in a position to take whatever they want and prove their mettle equal to any man.

Whether it is Women or Men excelling in one field is a myth.  For excelling in any one field one requires the necessary aptitude and commitment to the field.

Probably one should ask this question to Companies as to why they take more women compared to men in their HRD. Is there any natural quality by virtue of their Gender playing any role in preferance if at all like - mother sister - life partner? Individual personality is composed of certain percentage of men, women and child behaviour. Depending upon gene these percentages vary. Individual behaviour thus depends upon the composition of child-women-manly natures of individual. We always referer to women heart, He/She is like a child etc whenever we refer to individual nature. Recruters for HR department may look for a matured person with with more of womenly qualities like a mother /sister/friend in a HR so that he will know how to keep the employees Happy and be able to handle difficult situations maturedly and be able to reward good performance and punish bad peformance like a mother does it for child and creat a friendly atmosphere like brother/sister relationship among employees. One can find such qualities in men as well as in women. So it is not physical gender preferances but it is these qualties they look for in HR

I guess there also must have a neutral feedback here. Its not a male exclusive or a female exclusive world. In a corporate world there cannot be male female dominance, but the dominance of ability to do the job right. I guess Darwins theory "Survival of the fittest" is the apt answer.

I think both have equal opportunities. Amongst white collar jobs women may do better. But in blue collar jobs, dealing primarily with labour men may be better as the languaue of labour and they way we need to talk to them can be "crude"

No I don't agree there no field where women dominating men. Most of the areas they are equal and remaining is dominated by men. And many say HR field is only for women that is absolutely false, it is a field given for women by men because the workload is less and comfortable for womens. Even men can do better in Hr........
