forget the long queues outside govt offices, their inhospitable attitude, deals under table for moving files or even minor papers and uncertainty of things done,E-governance is next thing thanks to IT industry. We have seen in case of IRCTC,speedy passport delivery, computerization of licenses, land records and many more initiatives. They have definitely improved the system and left us desiring for more...

Good suggestion though it will take along time for  complete implementation of E governance.Only worry is our politicians should not put a spoke in the wheel.

E Gonenrnance has proved boon...

No doubt. E Governance is the tool, which can monitor the corruption. The changes has been seen in various departments. It opens the door for perfect monitoring system. A common man can track the performance of officer and politicians. The government has the best option for improving the slow system of india by implementing E Governance in every department.

But we have a challenge to cover the huge population. Our IT engineer are very efficient. If they are given a chance they can manage it efficiently within a short span of time. Who can believe that sitting in a remote village where there is no light, no education, no road even then you can book ticket by Mobile. If you have applied for passport, your status has to be shown by officials. if a process is defined and we have the tools to execute these process, then the present mismanagement will be minimized.

I can give you true example of my Father, who is in Government job, was working very relaxed. After the computerization, he is working from 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM. Because they have to update all the transaction by today. No pending task, No customer will be asked to come next day.

There are only 5 computers, but every day it affects 500 population by making their process fast and accurate. In computerization system, there is option to track the exact efficiency of employees like in private organization. the same can be applied in Government also.

yes e-governance is the way to go to reach the masses, how many Government offices you are intending to open to make sure services are provided, let there be mobile offices which are connected to one place where we can implement many things where everything is happening and UID project is intended to take these things forward.

Agreed Arun that e-governance can prove a very big solution for the mass, but seeing the infrastructure condition in India I think e-governance is still not that affective & frankly speaking large population is unaffected.

We need awareness, time, & infrastructure to make it successful...

I agree e-governance is good, but with such a huge population are we able to touch them all, with this e-governance stuff, is connectivity there to have proper e-governance in the country first, there are many things we need to address first before talking about e-governance, first we need education for all, then food for all, then e-governance will take shape automatically. First we need to address basic things and then go for e-governance which can solve problems and make things simpler for all.
