As we know, era of postal mails was engulfed by emails. In marketing perspective now the combat is between emails marketing and social media marketing. In recent times, People use to scrap and tweet but reduced their email communication. Does email end up like postal mails? Does Social media going to engulf email marketing strategy?

First of all, there is no need to compare Email Marketing with social media marketing because email marketing happens at professional level and social media marketing comes in a bit unprofessional level. Email Marketing is also today on demand, it is one way of online marketing, similarly social media marketing is another method. The disadvantage of email marketing is that its hit rate will be generally less compared to social media marketing. Yes its the era of social marketing !!!

People reduce using emails for keeping in touch and chatting. Everything is now on social networking sites which is more live. And companies also started using it as a tool for marketing and promoting their product. So social media marketing is the future and companies should know how to crack it.....

Email have the distinct advantage of being 1:1. As a marketer, I can hyper-target messaging to each subscriber to increase relevance. As an individual, I very much like the fact that I can email someone without the contents showing up on somebody's wall.Either personal or business context, email gonna be a powerful communication tool for ever.

Dear Sujai, Social Media Marketing and Email Marketing are two different kind of marketing techniques which comes under Online marketing. Email Marketing is a part of digital marketing. Social Media marketing is a different entity altogether because in social media marketing we try to reach a set of audience of our need and not an individual. In Email marketing, we focus on individuals and our messages are conveyed to them directly. So both of them have got their own advantages and disadvantages. The best part of social media marketing is that it is a continous effort and will yield regular results but email marketing is only a one time attempt done in intervals, so once the client misses it, the chance is over and will have to wait for next interval. Email marketing is not very cost effective and in taday's envirinment I think Social media marketing is more effective way of undestanding cusromers need and reaching to prospective profitable customers.With new analytic techniques like Text mining companies are using free text available on socila media sites to get more & more insight about the customers.
