In India diabetes is an epidemic, in a general physician's OPD every 7th patient is diabetic . Diabetes is a chronic metabolic disorder which occures with partial or absolute insulin defficiency and charecterised by eleveted blood glucose levels known as "Hyperglycemia". Pancreatic Beta cells are responsible to produce insulin & any damage to the beta cells results in compromised insulin production thus high suger levels. to counter that problem INSULIN is prescribed. External insulin produces good results & can increase a little weight specially in TYPE 2 patients. medical authority now recomends insulin early & but some peers delay the uses of insulin. what is your opinion , do you recomend early insulin initiation?

I strongly advocate the uses of insulin. Because we always go for blood transfusion when there is blood requirement in our body we fulfill it by external source, similerly pancratic insulin defficiency can also be fulfilled by using external insulin. And it is only myth that using insulin becomes habbit , but to have better control on glucose level habbit is required.

If we can manage without insulin that would be better, as insulin dependency and dependency related issue could occur.

yes Early insulin initiation helps preventing further damage to beta cells & relatively helps in recovery of partially damaged  beta cells.

which actually improves better quality of life.

Dependency related issues can occur even for non-insulin, anti-diabetic drugs.

Dear Parwati Ji thanks for ur participation.

But according to my understanding if someone wants to manage diabetes without insulin one can manage it by reguler walk & with oral antidiabetic drugs. And antidiabetic oral drug does not have any direct role in bringing down the glucose level, actually oral drugs stimulates already compromised beta cells to produce extra insulin to suffise the need, initially it works but how long you can sqeeze beta cells , over a period of time oral drugs woun't be able to control suger level, then you are bound to start insulin. and since beta cells are exploited like anything thus requirement of insulin will be high & without fail.

But if someone starts insulin early he can easily manage the blood suger level with a very small dose of insulin coz only a small portion of beta cells is compromised initially rest of the beta cells are remain healthy. So even a very small quantity of insulin delivers good control & saves life of remain healthy beta cells  for the future.     Thanks

Yes it is good. This has been found recently that people can have a early insulin. Researchers found that treating people with insulin straight away after diagnosis seems to help. People who took insulin for a few weeks had the amount of glucose in their blood go back to normal faster. And when the treatment was over, their diabetes stayed under control for longer with just diet and exercise.

Thanks.......
