No I dont think its neccessary to be an MBA for an enterprenure.Enterprenures can hire MBAs for betterment of thier business. But most of the high profile business men have no degree like MBA or allied.I can say it from my own experience too.If one can mange production, marketing and good dealing with allied companies one can run a business successfully. No need of MBA is required for enterprenureship at all.

Yes, MBAs can make a business nicely organised so that running of business become more easy and streamlined. For that purpose MBAs are needed too.

Counteracting to Sandeep's comment I would say that the number of such entrepreneurs are few but if we start counting the entrepreneurs according to their qualification I would say that there number is far much greater than without the qualification.

Yes, I think there needs to be some education or some knowledge about the things which a person is trying to achieve.

Making MBA, a pre-requisite to Entrepreneurship is an insult to the human talent and creativity.

Though the course content are helpful for a person to acquire an overall view of the elements required to conduct a business.

If one is fortunate enough to get an MBA before one's mind star clicking, then its best for him/her.

There are many people (With MBA) who are passionate about something, can rally support of people around them, have soul-mates with them and get started. Apple, Microsoft, iTunes etc are some example.

Once a venture takes some shape,  there is definitely need for people with management skills, so MBAs fit into this slot.

An Entrepreneur is born by his / her passion to do something on their own. It is the persistence and optimism that differentiates an Entrepreneur from the normal employee. Apart from the area in which the Entrepreneur operates, he/she needs good to very good skills in areas such as marketing , managing finance, human resources and so on. This knowledge can be acquired either through a formal MBA program or through self learning. We all know that all Entrepreneurs arent MBA graduates. So I would support the fact that you dont need an MBA to become an Entrepreneur.

If my friend says about the education which a person needs to take then I should remind him that Indian history is having many entrepreneurs who did not ave high qualifications. The best example that could be taken in that context would be of Dhirubhai Ambani.

Mahendra can you tell me more about what a sick project is. I am not clear of the meaning. It would be great if you elaborate it with a description, so that others will also understand and the discussion would be more interesting.
