First of all its very difficult to wipe the image once that has been set up and secondly a lot of investment is done by companies just to change the slogans.

In my concern I would favour this point, the world is changing and for that matter generations are changing and for them there are things which needs to be changed. Even Reebok which did not had any slogan is now coming with its slogan of "Run easy".

I think in case of reebok people remeber its campaign "I am what I am" rather than its slogan and this clearly tells that older and attractive things last longer.
