Veena I am sorry I dont agree with your point of view. Unless the next revolution will not be in agriculture India cannot attain grwth in every respect and since the country is in fast track the agricultural revolution must happen.

In the interest of our country it will be better if the next great revolution is in agriculture,as we are basically an agri economy, most of our population depends on agriculture and we need to be self sufficient as far as food requirements are concerned to take care of the ever increasing population.

Hello Piyush, I agree with you. Certainly this will happen. Farmers should go for upgrading the latest technology. To do this our government and banks should provide loans with less interest. By doing this we can expect speedy growth in agriculture. K Rajagopalan.

Of course, the next great revolution should be in the field of Agriculture. Already corporates, viz., ITC have percolated very deep in that segment. More and more entrepreneurs are required to be the interface between the great research institutions (both government funded and private) and the rural mass. The converntional system has a tremendous gap. There is a huge investment subsidy on various items in the areas of food processing and Agricultural produce are already available, but a few takers! This is an untapped area where every entrepreneur will initially gain insight and also monetise it over a period, if they develop prudent approach.

I think now the next entrepreneurship revolution will be most likely to be in the field of agriculture. As this is the field that supports nearly 60% of Indian population
but is lacking big ideas.

If you carefully observe the trends, more and more farming community worldwide is turning away from farming profession... reasons may be many... but energy, space, medicines, surgery, IT and telecommunication fields will lead the new generation even though the need of the hour is farming output. More is technological challenge, hence youngers are attracted... Even in hightech or mechanised farming also very few young ones show interest....

Agri biz has immense scope to explore into the future but it is too early to say that it will create a revolution based on the points of Ms. Veena. Technology adoption amongst the farmers in many parts of India is still a distant factor. Moreover, the efforts of bringing the farmers closer to the market is still not happenning thanks to the middlemen who are supported by the mafias and politicians.
