There is 1% hike in excise duty on coal in the budget 2011-12.
It will be adding to the cost of coal and increased coal price. The prices of A and B grade coal have already increased by more than 100 percent in recent times. Price rise in rest of the coal categories is about 30 percent. Now there will be more to it because price will go high further. How badly will it effect cement prices??

I don't think it will effect the cement industries or general people, because we are used of such tipes of hike regularly, i thanks our FM that he kept the % low as 1%.

If a company uses B grade coal for cement production then too 1% hike can mean hike of some 10 rupees per bag of cement, which will be remarkable compoundedly.

If you look it as a whole , then this hike would be remarkable & directly affects to pricing per sq.ft. to the end user / customer.
