Are you tired of living in public, sick of all the privacy theater the social networks are putting on, and just want to end it all online? Now you can wipe the slate clean with the Web 2.0 Suicide Machine. (Warning: This will really delete your online presence and is irrevocable). Just put in your credentials for Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, or LinkedIn and it will delete all your friends and messages, and change your username, password, and photo so that you cannot log back in.

Suicide Machine was compatible with Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and LinkedIn. But after 500 Facebook users signed out of their accounts for good, and more than 50,000 users deleted their friends list, the social network has stepped in to prevent any further acts of harakiri.

What do you think guys, Should everyone be able to commit suicide on Social networks?

Yes everyone should be allowed  to commit suicide on Social networks, and Facebook was not right in blocking this application, it should not matter how a user chooses to leave the platform, with this action we can say that some important data will be left even after permanently deleting one's account which is not good, and the suicide machine which would entirely erase the data, but I don't think it can delete the data from google index :) I think  Facebook is being oversensitive here, and they were not right in blocking this application.

Nobody should be allowed to commit any kind of suicide what soever if FB has blocked somebodys application from attempting suicide online they have also prevented him/her doing it in reality also. For instance producers/directors of 3 idiots showed about ragging (of course I have not seen the movie though) in bit positive manner people have already taken it as a lesson to commit suicide & have also done that.

People who are addicted to internet being FB, Myspace, Orkut, twitter, LinkedIn etc they just can't live without getting online!!! according to me it is right move.

Amazing things the IT guys (and gals) can do: the Web 2.0 Suicide Machine! As a matter of choice it should be up to the individuals to commit this virtual suicide as in the first place it was their choice to set up a Facebook or a Twitter account.

Yes, one should be allowed to "Quit" with honour from any site and social-sites. One allied question : how an E-mail account may be completely and finally quited / deleted ?
