Facebook Security Cracked - Is it a threat?

Apparently Facebook noticed the slap down that the FTC gave Twitter in June because it “failed to prevent unauthorized administrative control of its system.”

Shortly afterwards one of the senior engineers at Facebook responsible for SRE (site reliability engineering) challenged Facebook employees to try to compromise him and gain access to Facebook’s administrative system via information obtained from him.

They succeeded.

If employees can then why can't users? Is it a signal for potential threats??

Yes, its a sign of big threat. With the rise of hacking issues the threat level to normal users have also increased. Any individual with a general know-how about hacking can infiltrate your system or network & can use it against you....thus it is a serious issue which social networking sites are facing now a days.

The cracking of security by the employees of facebook is a signal that if employees then why can't simple users??

Giving access to the third party apps is a huge threat. By Allowing, it access our complete facebook data. Now a days, lots of Scams are trending. Osama live death and Dislike button malwares are few examples of security threat.

Have you ever tried to delete your account ? Try it !

You cant delete. FB Keeps your data even if u deactivate.. Anytime u can come back.

a threat yes.  but lets be honest with one another.   We use a "SOCIAL" networking site.  so the idea of privacy should not come.   If u want ot be private  use emails or yahogroups  to send stuff to your close buddies.   Im just saying i n a way i think  people who are doing wrong are threatened with privacy. For girls / women I think F should automatically  send an email to the women user the moment someone wants to access any personal info  about her.

Yes .... it may happens with anyone ... Hackers are much better in my opinion ... but programmers are really good they at least provide a window to enter ...
