Tom Peters says that if you see someone's CV who has got everything right - don't hire him! Though Scott Fitzerald said that there is no second coming in America, we have Steve Jobs, someone who got fired from his own company. I think the key point is that if you fear failing, you don't try new things. In today's world, risk of not trying out is far greater than the risk of failure.

Thomas Alva Edison Quotes “I haven't failed, I've found 10,000 ways that don't work”; “I never failed once. It just happened to be a 2000-step process.” “Nearly every man who develops an idea works it up to the point where it looks impossible, and then he gets discouraged. That's not the place to become discouraged.”

I endorse your views Mr.Virag Shah. I want to add little bit to this. Life is a vehicle which is driven with the help of the wheels called hard work, but the journey is impossible without the fuel called confidence. At any point of time one should not loose confidence in any kind of work which is very indispensable. Thanks for the referral Mr.Virag Shah.

failure makes a man more alert & thoughtful, one start searching reasons behind & that sometimes mks him/ her more innovative creative & knowledgible, its not neccessary that u failed means ur nothing, someone says very beautiful line " INSAN GIR KE HI SAMBHALTA HAI" & failure is the key of success & most important thing is hw u take that failure

Faliure definitely is sign of success and no1 can deny this. It gives motivation to move ahead, take risks in life , work on things in a strategic manner and its like we can always learn from our mistakes.

Yes failure is seen as a sign of success. Because brilliant guys has gone through failures. They took risk and come out with solution and such people are always in learning phase irrespective of their position.

Yes, I feel this is true. To enjoy the fruits of 'Success' one should have tasted the bitterness of failure. In that way a person is able to handle success and know its value. So the person will know how face a failure and face it and then make it a step to success. Hence the famous saying goes "Failure is the stepping stone for Success".

Shikha, but they were dropouts all the same, and the reason was thier inability to continue their education as it was too hard. They might look for excuses, but the truth is that they weren't able to finish. So, why do you cover up the failures of some and highlight the failures of others?

Hi Neha, thanks for referring this debate to me. Yes, we can put it the other way i believe. Genius will be the one who makes his way ahead of his own failure. I dont think there will be anyone who has not faced failures in his/her life. But there are less people who learn out of the failures and see that they dont treat that failures is a part of their life.

Purely it depends upon the "mindset" of an individual. In a situation where we are pushed into "life or death" situation, a person opts for "life" succeeds crossing all the barriers, whereas a person opts for "death" pushed into wrong corridors for gaining success by unfair means, even becomes gang leader!

Many dropouts like Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, etc are seen as revolutionaries. But in the Indian context, failure is a way to beat someone down. Never supposed to missa class, never supposed to drop a grade. What is the right approach? Why are we so damn scared of failing and that too repeatedly?

It actually depends on the mental make-up of the person in question. An emotionally storng person will be able to use failure as a stepping stone to success but otherwise failures would result in an emotional break-down and harm the individual a great deal.

Failures have always been part of the success stories of the genius. But not all the failures have made successful people. Most of them will get an emotional breakdown when things don't happen their way.

It is Not the failure that makes people brilliant or breakdown. It is how we interpret the things. If someone fail in anything and he is then more attached to success in the area in which he has failed. he will do all the things that he could not do in the previous attempt. Now If the person will think that because he has fail then he will never success then it will give him breakdown. Every person will tired when he will run. Only person that will win will be only one, who will be tired very much but will run till the finish. and the next we have to read the Bhagvata geeta where Lord Krishna says Karmaneva Adhikarastey maa faleshu kadachanan. Means do your work with purity. and dont attach with the result. however it is very hard but atleast we can try...

Certainly reality is this that I am now a failure and I am searching ways of ending this dirty life and this is the real feeling and scenario OK I am not going to hear any bullshit theory that are written in the texts of books which never solves any purpose practically............... Failure gives depression only and thats the truth....................
