Jyoti you are very near to exact question but fail to explain the fact.

The SC's decision of last week didn't make any impact on NTPC whereas the case of RIL-NTPC are still pending in Bombay high court. But after the decision of Bombay high court maybe you 'll right. The real case is still pending for which RIL became more popular in news, courts etc. or you can say a long drama has been put up every think is possible. let see what will be the conclusion after RIL-NTPC case....... Although according to Govt RIL-RNRL decision is a fair one.

Good debate and I agree with vipin. Even if you letting  RIL or not the prices are been rising steadily. So this is a good move by the SC. :)

I am against this favour to RIL as because the government owned NTPC will loose several crores and crores. Ultimately the burden will be loaded on consumers for the losses and the escalated power and gas prices. Government should always favour the cheapest supply to the consumers. The 2:1 bench might be on chips of RIL.
