In our childhood,we were afraid of 'Lal Topi'due to thier personality and good jobs with neutral images, towerds needy persons. These days Police work/rule as a political authorised one eyed persons. Is it possible to work them neutrally again!

Thanks for the referral Mr. Bhattacharya

The police have become a source of fear in today’s date. A common man is afraid to go to the police for a variety of reasons. We keep updating ourselves about police brutality in the news on a daily basis. In the Ruchika case we saw a Police officer misusing his powers, the very next day we woke up to the tale of two sisters who committed suicide due to police torture. The system should look into police brutality so that the faith of common man is restored.

Every work is sacred when done by us.If we start looking with the same positive attitude the work done by other depts. then the negative aspects have no value. It is easy to label a dept. or a person as lawless or rude. Before commenting on others it is better we look at what we are and what we are doing at our work, how oppurtunist we are at our work and then point a blaming finger at others. There is no doubt that the Police are Saviors and they command respect even today in our society. We definitely cannot generalise the statement as Police are Lawless Torture. Please open your eyes and see the good done to the society by so many selfless police,do not focus on stray incidents and project or propogate wrong feelings about respectable departments.

I don't know why people are afraid of police men. They are there to help us. I do agree they are a bit strict, but they need to be its their profession. What ever they do it is for good.

So respect them ........

present image of police is very bad for whatever the reason may be. if someone goes to them to just file a FIR, they charge a service charge of rs. 50-100 and if they go to buy say some vegetables, they want it free from the vendors else they will abuse them. so many people call them "vardi wala gunda". govt. need to improve the image of police, but it is very difficult.

All the arguements in this side are cent percent true. We could write so many issues in this regard eventhough it is not fair to blame the entire police personnels outwrightly since a very low %ge in police are good. Those who are misusing the power for themselves and for politicians forcing this country to a lawless and Indian a feeling of hopeless in them

I am in total agreement with Dr. Ali on his point of view. The other day it was in news paper that some police constable has raped his friends wife. How many cases are reported and published? I think may be 5%.

Isnt this clearly show we stay in lawless socity. This is a fall out of demcracy since the culprit/s know by the time law will catch up it will be years,if at all it catches up.

Keeping the present image of police in mind we can't respect the police. We have seen countless cases in which police have shown their brutality and misuse of their ranks and appointments. Its not one or two but almost all complete Police force is like that.  People are afraid of going to police station.  You go for any reason they are not going to spare you.  Yes few are there those who got a clean image and working sincerely.  If they want to change their image they have to work a lot. Other wise police is another face of fear.
