It is actually yes and no because when the female workers come to work they actually increase performance but they more often have to take the day of because of famil comittments or their health. Also the fact is there that they are restfricted from certain types of dangerous works and the work hours. So in essenvce the sdvantages of recruiting female staff are not one too many.

This is a "all mens' discussion" ... presence of (some / more than majority) female staff in work-place : When work performances increaases : --- In a mixed type combination, when they are less than majority. Fact remains that their mere presence may change attitudes of men, environment and office etiquetes / discipline --- When they are assigned specific jobs in which they (may) excel --- When they are free from women-viruses, Like : talking home and hubby, gossiping, being not punctual, all-dependent on male staff for performances and shifting of burden etc. --- When they do not mis-ulilize Gender-biasness/es of some 'typical' Boss, Supervisors and men Work Performances decreases : ---- When the position is just reverse as narated above

A mixed environment increases the ambiance and hence performance. In collaborative environments, the presence of the other sex can give a totally radically different point of view for consideration.

Presence of few female staff will contribute to better human relations, which may be absent if all serious looking males spoil the atmosphere. I believe human elemant is very important in work culture and good friendly atmosphere will definitely help to improve productivity of every one (lazy guys are exceptions to this rule!).

How can anyone say yes or no do you have any stats to prove your point. Or is your opinion based on your personal experiences with no basis in reality. According to Earl A. Alluisi, Edwin A. Fleishman there is very little and valid data that demonstrates sex differences in human performance and productivity.

there is no point of saying such things like who can do or who cannot, as there is nothing that one can do or cannot do. It is the choice of an individuals irrespective of caste,gender,age.. with situation prevaling around them.

I wish to give 10000 votes for "yes" its being 5 years we have adopted the strategy of appointing female workers and have seen tremendous change in the work place, they are polite, kind, ambitious & dedicated. I wont say male workers wont do it but comparatively females have proven to be best in our business. I have understood the "girl power"

For non specific and general job requirements – work performance is an individualistic characteristic and does not depend on the gender. Well performing employees can be either male or female. However, there are some specific job activities where gender does play a crucial role. For example, in my opinion, females would make better nurse. In India female gynecologists are preferred and do very well. Of course, wherever there is a job requirement where the qualities of “patience” and “friendly disposition” are prime requirements, females are likely to perform slightly better because they have more of these qualities. And then, the choices posed are too much tilting towards "Yes, Work performances increases". No one would support the "No, work performance decreases". Instead, the choices could be just a "Definitely Yes" and a "No, does not depend of Gender"

Men want to appear their best in front of women , so if there are female colleagues at the workplace , men will go the extra mile to appear good in the eyes of their female colleagues. It is expected that the female colleagues will be professional , and not play favourites !

Well I would not like to debate on who is the better Manager Male Or Female. But yes Female staff do increase the performance, because having Female employees in organization, gives Male employees a better motivation to come on time and work. :) ;p

Grish good debate but performance does not depend on gender. According to the work the performance of the gender differs. Generally in manufacturing and industry related work mens perform better and in service and IT works women perform better. So we cannot say female will increase the performance it depends on the work..... But compared to men, women are far better in performing..... :)

There are certain jobs which is well suited to females. It is also possible that you might find female workers more dedicated and having a higher sense of ownership than male counterparts. But appointing female has its own set of problems. 1. You will find very few females dedicated to "only work". What they more involved in gossiping and back biting. 2. The time time they spare at work will always be lesser than the male employees. 3. They are not capable of doing muscle jobs. 4. The attendance of the female workers will always be poorer than the male workers. 5. Lastly, in the Indian culture generally women are not capable of making decisions. So, if the job does not demand the above mentioned requirements, then may be you can say - "female workers increase work performance".

I WILL NOT SAY, WORK DECREASES... BUT IT LARGELY DEPENDS ON THE TYPE OF WORK... Let me explain my stand... Women are very particular, meticulous & specially Honest towards their Job. BUT, it depends largely on the kind of work we are taking about. IF it is plain & simple Office Work - They are Great at it... BUT IF it requires Physical Strain along with Mental Strain... I would beg to differ. They have great convincing Power ( sp. when there is a male at the other end )... Physical Strain would require a MAN for the Job, to give the best output. I have great regard for Women in Jobs, specially for their Honesty & Meticulousness. Happy Debating Friends !
