Italian luxury sports car Ferrari will make its official debut in India soon with popular models such as California, 458 Italia, 599GTB Fiorano and the latest FF, with prices starting from Rs 2.2 crore onward.

As the Auto industry is growing sat a superfast speed in India everyone is ready to try his luck.. So is the Ferrari.. As the brand name is strong and not much marketing is required.. But the cost is something which might be a factor for Indian market.. Will it survive for long in India or it should come up with a short term limited edition plan?

This is excellent news. This should be posted to other guys also like DRI-ED to enquire where the money came from, the mandarins in the Finance/Income tax Department to affect a steep, really steep rise in the luxury tax on card like these. If you can afford to pay 2 crore, then it can be pushed up to 4 crore by putting a 100% super-luxury tax

There would be buyers for sure but not too many... So coming up with limited edition pack time to time will create more excitement than anything else..

Amit , Lux. car manufacturers have a good amount of Profit margin ass. with their product.

Even Koeinigg has launched its latest offering in the market. To add to , The super rich is not bothered about a crore extra , if they are getting the ego factor satisfied. I am sorry to say about this topic, but there is nothing for it to survive. They are coming via CKD/CBD route. Its not only Ferrari . Every D+ segment offering has come into the market .

Probably from 2020 onwards, India would be a serious market for ferrari. Till the time it would be more or less commissioned sales.

It will definitely survive as young billionaires are booming by the day. I only wish the govt. reduces taxes in order to make it affordable for all of us to try purchasing the same !

It will be a runaway success. And money? Relax yaar. There are so many Alis out there, who can make somebody living abroad give gifts to us Indians (by taking the money from us through the hawala route with a commission ofcourse). Our economy is 75% black money. Is it not? DRI-ED, forget all that shit man. Did you read the news about how DRI-ED conducted a slopshod investigation against Ali? We Indians are human, dude. Hey Amit nice Idea. I have something else to offer. Choose brand ambassador Sachin Tendulkar & use referral system for limited addition car. Why referral & Why sachin-- There are more that 300 billionaires in terms of Rs. in India. Ferrari is face of sports. 99 % chance is that buyer likes fast cars or at least like car sports. If so then he must know few sports personalty of India if not Sachin. It will increase his desire to get that car because money is not his problem. Why Sachin-- Biggest sports brand ambassador of India.

Hey Amit,

I agree with you. The limited offer can fulfill the aspirations of the few who can afford to buy, like all MNC or even companies sponsored  by Italian Govt.

This will , certainly, take away the void existing in the automobile industry in India where, the specific customers who are the connoisseurs of car  ,like Ferrari.

When Tata is developing flats in the range of crores, there is no doubt, guy living there will buy it.
