Firewalls : Are they good enough to handle threats?

The business world is always under the fear of hackers or malicious users. No one knows, from where they get entered into your network and do the intolerable damages. Firewall is a system designed to secure your network from any intrusion of outside world. Firewalls are like sniffer dogs; they peep into each message passing through the network and block those messages that are not specific to the security criteria.These are some of the things that Firewalls can do very well but as the world is changing, so are the security needs.

What you guys think about this? Are firewalls enough to handle threats?

In my opinion firewalls cant handle all the threats on the web. There are many security threats where Firewall installation is of no help. Malware arising as the biggest security threat for companies and is considered as the combination of malicious code +software. It can also consist of viruses. Firewalls are of no help in the virus, worms, Trojan horse attacks and many more.
