Hi Everyone,

Topic itself explains a lot. It is in the context of sales person. It is his job & responsibility to sell the product to its target market, so it is sales which is important for the sales person. If a company manufactures a product then it has to be sold out otherwise it will adversely affect the company and consequently the sales person. So by achieving his personal targets sales person can help company to achieve its predefined targets for a fiscal period. And finally satisfaction of the customer comes after purchasing the product i.e. post purchase behavior, which influences him/her to buy again either same product or something else from the same company (cross sell or up sell). DO OR DON'T AGREE? REPLY ME. HAVE A NICE PROFESSIONAL DAY.

I think it depends on whether the sales person sees the account as a 1-time sale or something that can be milked from time to time. It also depends on what role referrals or WOM plays in influencing purchase decisions. Obviously customer satisfaction levels can significantly impact both 1-off and repeat sales scenarios. So its best to pay attention to it.

For sales person sales is the priority then comes customer satisfaction. If the sale wont be dont then there is no point of customer satisfaction at all. And sales and customer satisfaction has a life cycle. After doing the sale comes the customer satisfaction which converts into sales by good service and satisfied customer.   Sales ---> After sales service ----> satisfied customer ----> mouth publicity, more demand of product ----> More sales ----> After sales service -----> satisfy customer ---> more sales.                  So sales are important for business and satisfying customer are done for future sales. Both are important.

For a sales person sale is important till the time sale is not done and immediately after the sale is done the service becomes important as once you provide good service to your customer and gain his confidence he can give you more sales directly and indirectly which ultimately benefits your company. i think you must have a long term strategy for any market or product. Any product which is not fit or has some flaws needs to rectified or removed from the market and this job also lies on the sales person to do justice with the product and the company and also with your customer. If you are trying to sell an unfit product to a customer then you succed but ultimately you loose that account for ever. you can make some one fool for some time or even you can make fool a group for sometime but you cannot make the group fool for longer period and when this myth breaks you are no where.

Truely speaking, it is very much visible that sales of the product is important for the sales person as it makes his target. Customer satisfaction comes next on his list of achievements. Though he understands that customer satisfaction is also significant. But, I agree that ideally, it should be the other way round for a successful marketing strategy as customer is the "Uncrowned King". It takes very much clarity of the company's goals and responsibility towards company's success in the mind of the sales person and his honesty with which he fulfills it which will keep the customer's satisfaction as primary target.

Here the point is not clear that sales of which kind? B2B , retail, direct or what ?

But generally the sales terms used for selling only. If we are talking about customer satisfaction then it will converted in marketing where after sales service has major ground.All B2B and related to organizational sales comes under the word Marketing.

If a sales man enters in a moving bus & appeal the passengers to buy his product(without any brand) then only sale is his motive because passengers are not same if he daily selling on same route & if he change his route daily then again same.

Sales create a short term relationship.

Marketing is the combination of sales and after sales service which is used for long term relationship.

Customer Satifaction by Service Company to Sales there product, they convience the people to buy their product, on the aim of these, their will advertise the product (generally in add, it saws that co. always says we take care of your life (Soap add., perfume add.... and so on)etc...)& also if customer's is not satisfied he will not buy the product nexttime.

For your Question Straightly Speaking sales of product is important. Any organisation will keep target for sales man about the no of Product sold. They will not ask how was the feedback about the Product unless and until its a new product. So The knowledge of Customer Satisfaction will not come for sales guy in any industry. It should be for the Product Manufacturer or the representative who has to think about customer satisfaction. So Primary job of Sales Person is to sell the Product not customer Satisfaction. Follow up of Customer Feedback should come from other Department.

Customer satisfaction with product or person comes only after sales! Customer satisfaction gives you repeat customer and referral customers, thus is very important but satisfaction without sale is not understood.

In your case.. the Reliance communications, there are specialised teams to cater various aspects of customer satisfaction. Your part is effective till the extent of sale. In any big organisation, sales is the key.

In general, if a commodity/Service is backed by a multi unit customer handling team, their focus area is to be prioritised, but, if you are working for marketing of a product, where you have to see all aspects, for sure Customer satisfaction is the key.

It cabe understood by simple 80/20 rule. 20% of satisfied customer gives you 80% of your business and the cost of acquiring a new customer is always higher than retaining the old one.

Customer staisfaction is more important. It can be  understand by simply applying 80/20 rule. Your 20% of satisfied customer will give 80% of your business. So instead of digging a "well" for new customer everyday...why not give excellent service to those who are already your customer.Also we must remember that cost of acquiring new customer is always more rather than retaining the old one.

Customer satisfaction is itself the strategy to more profitable business.In the present marketing scenario Customer Satisfaction Index is very vital and Customers are treated as GOD.Creating customer delight by various avenues has become the core concept in the marketing field and it has taken the whole concept into a 360 degree view.

1.Satisfied customers will bring more customers and will be generators of more business by positive WORD OF MOUTH.

2.Customer care has become the concept of yesterday but if you can approach the recent concept of CUSTOMER DELIGHT then you can not only sell but also cross sell and up sell sometimes because a satisfied customer is able to pay a price premium for a product also if they are satisfied with it.

No doubt sales is the first thing a salesman would be interested in. But customer satisfaction is the long term asset that a company or a salesman can nurture.

Customer satisfaction has lot of advantages 

1) A positive customer is like a bank - he or she will not hesitate to buy the product again or go for any other value added service offered by the product / service provider if  he or she is positively predisposed to the offering.

2) A  customer will recommend the  product or service to their friends and peer groups  if  he or she is fully satisfied with its product promise, delivery and the prompt service - this positive word of mouth is the best thing that a company can have - this is priceless.

Thus it is sales that happens first - but post sales customer satisfaction by service only cements the bond between the customer and the product.

Customer satisfaction through service is more important than the product. Rather I would like to realign this service to "delivering happiness" than customer satisfaction. A customer can be happy only if you are dealing in a highly dignified way but after understanding the consumer, the way you deliver your best as per his aspirations shall be more satisfying for the consumer.

I would say the customer satisfaction is more important. But then all depends upon the culture in an organisation where one works. A sales person ultimately is bothered about what he gets at the end of the day !!!! Many people still do not understand the difference between the sales and marketing. The " sales " starts at the factory and ends at customer, where the " marketing " starts from customer and ends at factory. So ultimately, if the product is manufactured to satisfy the needs of customer, it certainly survives and it is ultimately the customer satisfaction which takes you to the top.

Sales should be achieved by achieving both customer satisfaction and also the sales targets which are supposed to be achieved by your or your employees , but always keep it in your mind that a sale will be driven only if "YOU" will be able to create a certain "Brand Loyalty" which can only be achieved through customer satisfaction. An these "Brand Loyalists" will always be a constant revenue for your product or a brand.

I agree with you, that customer satisfaction is important than the sales of product. If you are able to satisfy a customer he will get you more customer and the product sales will automatically increase.

So don't worry of the product but try to satisfy you customer with it. But never suggest you competitor's product that something being unethical to you organization.......

For me it all about customer satisfaction. If my product cannot satisfy a customer then I loose one relation & I have to tell a sequence of lie to the customer, so better suggest the customer other product even of ur competitor also.
