Well it happened quite a long ago, still its ironical that a liquor magnet has to come forward to bring home our that treasure. Any ways, govt. at least, did not prevent a liquor Barron to go & bid for Bapu's belongings. Isn't it a great support? Moreover, I had read somewhere that our H'ble tourism minister quoting that which ministery should bid for that & from where that ministry shall arrange 'huge' 1.8 million dollars & under what head. How can they do that guys, don't they have other 'important' things to do first? I think, we should be thankful to all the politicians, for at least not preventing Mr Mallya doing that, shouldn't we?

I do nto think, I need to justify the reason for saying that UPA government does not deserve any credit whatsoever.

Ready made Credits without making any sincere efforts is Government's ploy..How can they take credit when Vijay Mallya says he has not been contacted from any Government representative. Instead of Vijay Mallya a Government representative should have participated in the Auction.

We have seen Government taking credit for SlumDog Millionaire which won Oscars though it not an INDIAN movie...The UPA government is trying to act smart but they are forgetting they are making a fool of themselves by doing all such things when elections are near by.
Where was the government ? what did they do ? when no one knew where was the belonging of Gandhiji for past 61years ? Why didn't the government take any initiative to find out the left over belonging and also when the auction was announced UPA government wants the seller to withdraw the auction and hand over the relics to the government. But failed in that too... If atleast they would have we could have given credit to UPA Government...
Does anyone know how come the personal belongings of Gandhiji went in hands of a foreigner ???

There is another big news that is coming that Government of India was telling everybody that they had approached Mallya to bid on behalf of Indian government, but when Mallya was contacted he said no body approached him, and he said whether one approached or not but Gandhiji's belongings are back to India, and he was happy for that.

You are right kanchan......UPA govt is concerned about making news as the election is coming near day by day. And what better than letting Indians know about their victory in bringing national father's articles! It is utterly rubbish as this money would minimize India's woes in basic problems like education, health, terrorism, hunger, infrastructure, poverty, employment, etc. However, the govt is only concentrating in winning next poll and thats why declaring it as UPA Govt's victory, like they announced when British film Slumdog Milleniore won Oscars! What a pity...Why they do not spend our money and their energy in constructive things and also finding a solution for the terror attack on Mumbai where several innocent Indians died. Gandhi, if alive, would have been happier seeing this instead. And also media should be responsible and should not encourage anyone's misdeeds like this and promote it.

It's a big shame !!! In election season, UPA will go to any lengths to woo voters. How come UPA can't find cash for serving the poor and needy? What kind of Gandhigiri is UPA upto? Time has come to throw this UPA Government out of power!!!
