Giving out exam schedule well in advance

The Maharashtra state board has declared the timetables for SSC and HSC examinations at the start of the academic year. The HSC exam will be held on February 21, 2012, and SSC exams will start on March 1, 2012. The board says it declared the timetable now so that students get sufficient time to plan their studies and prepare for exams. The board hopes this will reduce stress levels among students. What do you think, will this be beneficial? Whould same thing be practiced in other states too??

This is a good idea for the students as they will know how to plan their studies. Planning well in advance gives you lots of room for understanding. For few it would not be good because there are students who can perform better under stress.. :)

GOOD NEWS FOR POOR STUDENTS AND BETTER NOT TO TALK ABOUT INTELLIGENT STUDENTS WHO WILL DEFINITELY MAKE THE MOST OF THIS OPPORTUNITY.

THIS NEWS IS REALLY VERY MUCH HELPFUL FOR POOR STUDENTS WHO OFTEN LAG BEHIND IN IMBIBING A SUBJECT, THEY WILL GET SUFFICIENT TIME TO PREPARE THEMSELVES FOR ENSUING EXAMINATIONS.

CERTAINLY YES, THE SAME SHOULD BE FOLLOWED IN OTHER STATE TOO.

May be useful for instructors to cover the syllabus in times . But, as far as, the student is concerned "they will loose the charm of thrill" i.e., announcing the schedule only when they expect it. Because, generally, they know the likely month of examination that is conducted every year.

To every body who consider a student is poor should reconsider their statement ? Its our inability to provide them a platform to shape future of their choice. We do not have enough facility for them. Coming to the point ,I appreciate this step of Govt.Finally, We in a direction to teach our student ,the power of planning and organization.Now ,they will learn to get most out of 'time'.This is great lesson more important than just clearing exam.

oh yes!!! now parents can plan effectively and they can make sure that no family function comes in between these days to miss out.....and of course students can also plan their cricket tournaments...holidays...etc...etc. lol.

Giving the exam date in advance not only reduces the stress level and helps the child to plan for studies, it also helps the parent to plan holiday engagements for their children after exam, it helps the teachers to schedule their teaching plan and more over the school management works proper to accomplish their goals within the time limit.

Yes it is a good move. Though the schedule is not released with specific dates, tentative programme is known to the students of these boards I believe. Anyway its a good move. In a state like Andhra Pradesh where the regional agitations are eating out the academic schedule, there is every possibility that the exams are conducted as per schedule.
