The ongoing fluctuation in the market has effected even the biggest IT sector companies like IBM,Dell,Microsoft to roll out new products for their clients the demand for the IT products has gradually decreased affecting the business development in IT sector.

So this global crisis crunch will halt the business expansion in IT sector for long term or not ?

If you consider big IT giants then it has definitely posed a threat to IT services industry (since they contribute most in export) but this is a good time for small and mid size companies where they will get chance to beat big players on cost. There is at least 20% price difference between big companies and SMEs for similar kind of services. With global slowdown companies will now look for smaller development partners who will treat them with preference at lower total project cost.

Hello, why are we so worried about this crisis. This is the result of over dependence i think this is not going to effect major companies though it might see some job cuts and a temporary halt in expansions but they have well strategic plans to fight back this crisis and there will be a optimum growth in the next few months .

You mean there will be a steady growth in next few months? Forget the major IT companies but what about the mid-size companies who have good products and excellent man power will they survive this crunch? i think the over dependence has severely affected the business development in IT sector since the banks and enterprise organization are the major clients.

Yes,yes this crisis has affected the expansion plans in the IT sector and has become a threat to the employees whose future will suffer a setback and what about the existing employees in that domain they are lot worried about the pink slips. It is really ridiculous why the companies have no backup plan to fight this crisis. the worst thing they do is cut the jobs and snap the business from that region.

It's not a threat, this crisis will correct the market. When the crisis is over there will be more and new opportunities coming up. I think, looking at the past, Organizations should plan a 7  year strategy to contain economic slump.

Before 2000 the market was driven by the Y2K boom and countinued with dot com bubble. in 2001 everything got corrected, some IT cos closed down and many large coprorations re sized. Later 2001 the KPO, BPO opportunities has flown down and may be 2010 onwards you can see a paradigm shift in future biz opportunities.

In the growth path, many of the SME's in India has grown to a Corporate level and brought up many opportunities in IT. This is going to continue for a long time.

Compared with other industries like Manufacturing and Financial services, IT industry is an infant. I accept IT companies are facing a tough environment getting business. It is a normal cycle to every other industry. But IT is going through this cycle at a faster pace. No company would be running with out IT, as the going gets tough for them, they would be relying on IT solutions more to decrease the costs and improve efficiencies and this would be the chance for IT to rebound back on to the track. I strongly believe this is the time to take a step back and analyze the situation, and then take a leap jump along with the curve ahead.

This is not going to be permenant, this sort of threat is always an opportunity to analyze and formulate better strategies to avoid the dependency of one single market.
