Google has been ruling the online search category for a very long time. The charisma is such that people often confuse “search” with Google, the status of Google was like that but then the recent news from Google will come as a surprise for many as Google is going for new look for its new search engine which has been given name of Caffeine and the same name is used as the codename for the new page which is developed under the hood of the older one. Yes Google is coming up with a new iteration, which will serve the users with better indexed and more relevant search result pages.

And this news comes just after  when the deal between Yahoo and Microsoft was sealed, and the recent increase in numbers the search status of Bing in the month of July is also doing the rounds.

People what do you think is Google scared of Microsoft?

Is Google scared of Microsoft’s apparent early success with Bing? Of course not.

Bing’s so far only managed to gain a couple of points in market share, why would Google be scared of it? Right? Well, someone over at Google is scared of Bing, because the search engine leader has just launched an initiative to remind its users of the underlying technology that makes Google better than Bing. When you visit the Google.com homepage, you’ll see a link

“Discovering the web” which, when clicked, takes you to a page that looks like this: The page has many reminders of what’s “under the hood” and even has videos to explain the benefits of using Google. Before you dismiss this as “no big deal” keep in mind that Google rarely adds new content to its homepage. There’s like a gazillion levels of approval for the addition of just one word–and here we see Google increases the current word count from 28 to 37!

Google are revamping things here for a reason, if they had not been threatend then why do such a thing, they feel yahoo and microsoft both combined can pose a problem for them in future and just to make sure that they stay on top for eternity they are doing this.

I think they are scared of Microsoft and yahoo deal and to counter attack they are coming up with caffeine, if not Google was doing fine enough according to me, and i think they don't want to give an inch to their rivals Microsoft and Yahoo interms of its userbase which it has, but then the steady increase in the numbers and steve ballmers interview where he said he is totally satisfied with the growth numbers that is there and expected that in the next 5 years there will be even more considerable amount of growth in Bing..so i think this new caffeine from Google is to counter attack the new Bing, all the activities by google suggests they are scared of Microsoft.

defiantly not,Google has place of its own on the internet. The announcement of caffiene is simply another part of the tradition they have of coming up with products.Chrome was under development for nearly 2 years and now its available, same is happening with google wave.

The rate and quality of innovation at Google is not at all linked/affected with what all crab happens in the outside world!! And it is this that makes Google such a great company.

Caffiene isn't just about improving search results, the UI ,the algorithms etc.. it is something which wants to approach near -real time search.

In short,Google has no reason to worry about bing. This is what i personally i feel.It may be because i am a big fan of google but all said and done Google rocks !!

I completely agree with what Mr. Gordon has said and there is no way that Bing is a competition for Google interms of search, the numbers increased in Bing is just because there was curiosity around the Microsoft and yahoo deal and this made people check out Bing and believe me to sustain the growth is a lot difficult for Bing.....And google is not scared they are moving along with time...
