Google Increases the size of its search box

i think if google has done so then there must be some definite reason must be out there!!!!it doesn't only linked with the look but it matters with the quality,it gives the option for the user to see all the contents at once for what he is googling!!!there are some other search engine in contemporary with google who are endeavouring for its flourishness but still the google is as pioneer among users!!!!Contents to be searched by the user may be also in other languages which is also a great flexibility provided by google should fit on the search box for the convenience of the users!!!!!!!ANd the more is that if it has been done then its a deliberated job which might be beyond our thoughts but must be in well and goodness of the users!!!!!!!!!!!

yes,its a welcome change .The thing about search ideally is , bigger the query , better the results but practically the reverse is true.My guess is that Google thinks this may make the user stay,focus on his query for a longer time.

Also it may be a fun way of telling the world of "who has the largest index of the web "??  :)

As far as I think, Google is doing this for its good visualisation and good presentation. From past few years, we are seeing that Google is making some or other change it it. May be its search wise or use wise. Or ever visual wise. This new upgradation of Google, will indeed be much better since it would now help the user to see where he is doing mistake in writing wrong sentences or keywords.

Sometimes, small things make a major difference.  Yes! The new increased size of the search box makes it look just fine for some long search strings.  I did not see any difference in the results though.

This is a good move. Many times we make a search of long strings and with small box, some of the text gets hidden. Now the search text/sentence will be visible more .

I agree with Sumitra that this is beating the challange with compititor Bing. It also strikes in our mind to make more search together with ; paramaters between words.
