The surprise though is Google at 4th with around 4.1% traffic share, which is almost the same as Facebook and Windows Live Mail, but this might definitely mean that Microsoft has loosened its pockets a lot, and are advertising Bing aggressively on one of the biggest search engines on planet Earth. Yahoo with whom Microsoft signed a deal for search is there at 5th with around 2% of the traffic.

As of now Google's search technology is years ahead of Bing's. Even the fact that Microsoft had to depend on an open-source technology contributed vastly by Google community, Hadoop, is testament to its lack of resources to make it as a search biggie using its proprietary model. Moreover, Microsoft faces a major challenge to build up sponsored link base like Google's. Till then it can continue paying Google to list Bing results at the top in Google results!

I totally agree to your point. It is the real simplicity of the Google search engine that has brought in lots of users to use it as their default search engine. The point to be noted is that Google is not sleeping. It is innovating all the time to improve its services. So its bit more difficult for Microsoft to outsmart Google in the long run.

No other search engine can beet GOOGLE at least for next one or two years. The algorithms they are using either for search results or for sponsored links are amazing. Google modifying it search engine algorithms very frequently, based on the different criteria. However, Bing can overcome Google, provided they should be there in the market quite for some time. "If any search engine survives for five years and more, they can overcome the Google."

yes there are some technical indifferences wit google w.r.t. bing. but Google is Google. They are the pioneer and they are the master. google has mastered the art and now they are implementing the innovations only. way to go for bing. Google has already penetrate the market as a product company now. Android, nexas Onw, Google's twin port, App marketplace and lot many more.... just an endless list. seeing the diversification of their own line of business, it seems that these guys sitting at Google are just watching bing. it's always good to see a baby playing, running and doing lot of funny stuff. isn't it? way to go baby bing. but don't worry big daddy is watching you. What I like out of this is the marketing concept of Microsoft. Using Google to 'google' it. Cool..!! I must say that. And why not, to be in the top position in the Google network ( search + content) with the most popular keywords, Microsoft must paying Google in billions.

I think Google is way ahead in the game, specially bcoz of its searching technique. It fetches you the result, that u intend to search for. For instance, type "too step" in both the search engines..and its only google that takes you to this site. Also, Google has got few techniques, which makes your search more easier. One more advantage for google is, the various products that it offers for Social Network is very much popular among todays youth.

It is a big ask for any search engine to even fathom dislodging google let alone do it in near or near distant future, for the only reason google has become a staple for us all. Yes bing has passed expectations but in no way bing has got a single distinct feature that strikes you, makes your eyes pop. Just variations & a bit of feature tweak. Local searches and language support are the areas where a lot of scope for competition is there as they are irrelevant as of now, but down the line the one who caters to this req. barring any jaw dropping search capability, google will be preffered.
